Ive noticed when i do alot of oxy, at times i cant swallow without a drink is this a regular side effect?
It happens all the time but never really noticed/botherd me till now

I think certain opiates can tense up the muscles around the stomach, which is likely going to be the problem. Though of course, it could always be psychosomatic, dry mouth, mild nausea, etc.
Is it causing you any problems, other than just discomfort?

Oxycodone as mentioned by others here have many different side effects which can by themselves make swallowing a little difficult there by requiring swallowing some water to get them down such as, dry mouth, thirst, more serious side effects such as muscle spasms can make them difficult to swallow, however, I was just reading on a site that a less common, but a definate side effect of oxycodone actually is difficulty in swallowing, check out this link, however I will pop in a quote from the site if you don't want to hit this link Oxycodone less common side effects

Less Commonly Reported Side Effects of Oxycodone Use

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if certain medical problems or discomforts are related to the medication you are taking or something unrelated. With oxycodone, there are some less commonly reported side effects that fall into this category. They can include: migraines, gas, dehydration, thirst, neck pain, difficulty swallowing, increased hunger, tremors, vertigo, amnesia, dry skin, impotence, decreased sex drive and missed or irregular menstrual periods.

So to answer the immediate question, yes this can definitely be a side effect, albeit not a common one. Hope this helps ease the mind a bit, maybe now knowing this, you may relax a little more which may ease the difficulty in swallowing.

My friend and i were both high one day, we just left BK and were eating in the car, while he was driving. He started choking, had to pull over and I gave him heimlich maneuver and everything, shit was scary

Yea, it's not just u OP, b careful

This is actually a pretty common side effect, although I'm not entirely sure why it happens.

I had a friend who would always complain of difficulty swallowing after he had taken oxycodone.

I'm going to close this thread as the question the OP originally asked has been answered. If the OP would like to re-open it, or if anyone has anything relevant to add, PM me.

(excellent answers, by the way, nAON and painenduser.)
