Nose damage from insufflation?

Hi all, i've just got a question concerning possible septum damage. I don't snort drugs habitually but I snorted mxe oftenly six months ago, always in my left nostril, before switching to sublingual administration. I rarely snorted mxe after the switch, but I did snort 2c-e three times within the past two months - usually with mxe. A year and a half ago I snorted around a gram of MDPV over a month, daily, through my right nostril.

For the past two weeks i've been sneezing a hell of a lot more frequently than normal, and i've experienced a lot of runniness. A few days ago I also found small amounts of speckled, dried blood in my right nostril. My right nostril seems to have a little difficulty in breathing efficiently, and is oftenly blocked. I was given a nasal inhaler, some sort of corticosteroid, when I was 11/12 to help with opening my nose, so I don't know if this has been always there or if i've made problems for myself with drug usage.

Is there any possibility i've done myself harm? If so, what should I do to help? I appreciate any input, thanks guys

It is possible that you have caused some damage/irritation. It seems rather odd however that you are just now having problems. This makes me think its not related to your past drug use.

There are many things that can cause the symptoms that you are describing. You should talk to your doc if the problem persists and see if you can be tested for allergies. If you do a search on google about your problem you will find many people experiencing the same thing. Allergies seems to be the most common cause.

I would be very surprised if insufflated drug use lasting <1-2 years would result in septum damage. How bad did it hurt when you would snort these drugs? As long as the pH wasn't too high/low like cocaine, it really should't effect you that much without many months/years of habitual use.

Take an antihistamine (25-50mg diphenhydramine) or use a saline solution up your nose. If the Benadryl significantly helps with your nose it could indicate some sort of allergy, regardless it should help some. Theres alot of different things that can be going on. I can tell you as a dipper when you quit dipping, that's when your mouth starts to act all weird and get sores. Some time is all you need, I doubt there is any permanent damage. Try to take notice how you breath while sleeping as well.

I've definitely heard of snorting drugs causing serious septum damage and nose irritation, but I haven't heard of anyone having problems suddenly show up a year and a half afterwards. Do I understand correctly that you said you've only been snorting drugs a couple times a month since then, but that your problems such as bleeding and stuffiness only began up a few days ago? When was the last time you snorted anything? If you've rarely been snorting lately and your problems only just began, then I'd say it is unlikely that it is serious or permanent damage from snorting. Don't snort anything at least until it completely heals. As whippa cracka said, you can use saline solution to rinse it a couple times a day, take an antihistamine, and you can also get a special cream/ointment. I also agree that sometimes decreasing/stopping drug use can cause these sorts of problems. If it doesn't clear up soon I would recommend you see a doctor. You don't even have to tell your doctor about the drug use if you don't want to, don't worry about telling him/her about your symptoms :)

That's interesting that slowing down drug use would cause symptoms to appear, why would that be?

I can't certainly put a specific date around it, but I think it was around three weeks ago when I insufflated 30 mg mxe and 10 mg 2ce on top of 60 mg sublingual mxe.

Haha come to think of it I might just be sick, I was balancing midterms, drugs, work, and not getting much sleep. By any chance though i'll give it time

you said that you snorted through you left nostril all the time but theirs blood in your right, what would make you think the blood in your right nostril came from the drugs when you always snorted through the left? im sorry homie but it sounds like to me you just may be a little sick

Yeah, if you haven't snorted anything for 3 weeks and you just started getting these symptoms a few days ago I would say it's unlikely that it was caused by snorting drugs. You might have allergies or a cold or infection or something. Don't snort anything, and get it checked out if it doesn't improve soon.

Are you currently taking drugs by other ROAs? Drugs can lower your immune system. I'm not positive why decreasing or stopping drug use can sometimes cause these kinds of symptoms, but I think that the toxins coming out of your body and/or withdrawal symptoms are probably the causes. I know for me I sometimes get sores, acne, stuffy nose, sore mouth/gums, etc (not necessarily all of those things at once though) when I stop/reduce certain drugs.

you should get into the practice of regularly flushing out your nose/sinuses with a saline solution, perhaps a nasal spray bottle, while you're on a bender/snorting often as it will clean/clear it out avoiding buildup of inert binders and fillers from the pill, clearing it out leaving less chance of irritation and limiting the further progression of turning into blocked, stuffy sinuses which can result in infection and further problems down the road, ie - deviated septum.

Another thing with using saline or any nasal spray- wipe the top of the bottle with tissue after using it. I've had spray go bad on me because of bacteria. I have bad sinus trouble since I was a teenager plus 2 broken noses and surgeries and still snorted drugs afterwards (stupid, right) Plus don't let other people borrow your spray.

yeah, avoid sharing any snorting related apparatus with others. whether it be a rolled up note, straw, saline spray, what-have-you. same rules for not sharing IV related items such as spoons/cookers, etc.
