I recently had surgery and was prescribed a Hydrocodon-Acetaminoph 7.5-325mg; I am also prescribed Vyvanse 60mg and am a student. Is there anything wrong with mixing these two prescriptions? What kind of side-effects, if any, should I expect? Also, is there any sort of counter-action that taking both of these prescriptions will cause? Thanks!

It is fine to take both together. The euphoria should synergize nicely as tends to happens with amps and opiates. If you are opiate-naive, however, I suggest you experience you first opiate alone, by itself, if that is, you are interested in recreation. 15 mg is a good starter dose of hydrocodone for an opiate-naive individual, again for recreation. The only real side-effects being more likely due to this combination is nausea and perhaps a headache. Also, be careful not to re-injur yourself because the pain will likely subside a great deal with the hydrocodone also, and even more in combination with the Vyvanse.

Hi there, welcome to BL. Please don't use SWIM - it doesn't protect you and it just makes your posts hard to read! I've edited it out for you.. take a look at the BDD guidelines in my signature :)

There shouldn't be any dangers with mixing them, no. Was the doctor who prescribed the hydrocodone aware of your other meds? It is always best to inform doctors so they can make the right decisions about your medication.

Thanks for the replies. I am a rather experienced recreational user with amps and other drugs but never really got into the opiates as I've have had quite a few friends and family tumble down the wrong path with what started as recreational use. The doctor was fully aware of prescribing both but I can't say I'm not to tempted to take more than the doctor ordered. Being rather new to using opiates where should I look on these forums to find out if I would be taking too much, because of the acetaminophen? Sorry about the use of SWIM, browsed a few forums like this and that seemed to be standard in the others, much happier using I and having it easy to understand anyway :D Thanks guys!

No worries about the SWIMming, we get it a lot :D

The max amount of acetaminophen you should take in 24 hours is 4g, no more than 2g in one go. If you are looking at ingesting more then you need to do a cold water extraction (CWE) - it's pretty easy, there's a thread about it here.

Best places for info on opioids are this forum and Other Drugs. You can search (search box top right) or take a look at the BDD directory (in my sig) or the more extensive Other Drugs directory for megathreads etc on different drugs.

it's good that you are cautious with opioids, they can be a slippery slope.. I'm really pleased that you are doing your research beforehand though :)

You will be ok although 7.5mg is kind of a low dose. I say take 2 hydros and 1 vyvanse and you should be relaxed, focused, and feeling good

nope not that much besides respiratory depression which will be less likely to happen with amphetamine. effie has a good point that apap can be dangerous in high doses. i've done this combo before, it was quite nice actually :) just don't drive!
