Im just coming around from a 50 hour meth fest where i was pushing myself to meet some work deadlines so i wanted to concetrate and stay awake. it was my first time doing meth, so perhapes that is part of the reason, but i find that i had almost no desire to do more each time i start to come down (but i did do more since i had more work to do). I like the high and the speed, but i dont feel any of the incredible urges to do more the way i hear so many people talking about.
I have done a bit of coke over that last few months too and i have found the same thing with that. I feel satifyed with one or two lines.
Maybe i just havent broken the threshhold barriar, or is it possible that there are peple that are not as prone to addiction to speed?

im like that on the comedown of a meth high, I really don't have the desire to do more, coke on the other hand...hehe.

Um, people only make meth to be this super addictive drug out in their posts, and most of them (I mean like probably 98% of those that post about how "addictive" it is) have probably never even been addicited to it! If you use meth every day for weeks and week then you could find yourself getting into trouble, but no, meth doesnt have the addictive properties that other drugs do by where you 'crave' more and more - as I have said many times, a weekend of meth use is no big deal at all, it's not going to turn you into an addict..
So in response - you're not "special" because you're not getting hooked, you're NORMAL - it's everyone else that posts about how uncontroable meth is that are a little wacked...
Yeah, I was briefly addicited but that kinda accidently happend - I had used non-stop (literally, I would IV some every few hours, every day, for a few months) .. when I finally came to a day where I didn't have any meth I realized I craved it ..

Agreed with Phreex, meth isn't as addictive as some people make it out to be... though obviously you CAN get addicted, and there are plenty of living examples of this.
As far as your original question, YES, some people are unquestionably more prone to addiction than others duet genetics. 'Addictiveness' in general and the ability to become addicted to at least some specific drugs can easily be shown to have a strong genetic component in animals, and a number of specific genes have been identified. It's pretty undeniably existaet in humans as well -- alcoholism majorly runs in families.
There has been a lot of recent work relating to the role of dopamine receptor density relating to addictions -- people with higher (I think, maybe it's lower) levels of D2 receptors seem to be significantly more prone to addiction. Sorry I don't have cites, but it should be easy to look up if you want...
