In just under 2 weeks I'm going to be going on a dream trip to South East Asia, something that my family, especially my mom, is having a hard time handling.
In the past, for instance, the first time I went out to an afterhours club, not knowing what was going to happen, I wrote a huge entry in my journal, leaving a little 'note' to everyone that was important to me. I seem to do it when I'm worried about something, and I am worried that something bad will happen on this trip. (I have stress and worry problems, I guess)
So, I'd like to leave a letter for my family, or just my mom, but the question is: should it be a 'read this when you miss me' letter or a 'open this incase something happens' letter?
Has anyone done this, and if you have (or even haven't) what did you/would you say? I'm not looking for ideas, I'm just curious what you wordies would say. And if I were to leave a "open incase of emergency" letter...should I hide it or tell my family to keep it until something happens?
(full of questions today)

Hey KAZ
I don't think there's any point in worrying your family unnecessarily, so the 'read when you miss me' letter is the best way to go I think.
Just put your itinerary in, what you're looking forward to doing/seeing, and that you're going to miss them and will be thinking of them - And that should about do it!
Oh and have HEAPS of fun on your trip! You lucky thing :D

Maybe you can just leave it in your room..if something were to happen your room will be gone through and you can just write in the letter that you wrote it specifically in case something should happen.
I know if something happened to someone in my family, it would be nice to find something..probably make everyone cry harder but you can still assure them they were the best :)
