i recently tested a pill with the e1 tester , to which i received no reaction . i observed the test for another minute and to my amazement there was still no reaction. is there a reason for this ? does the e1 tester test for all substances?

This concerns me.... not the fact that there was no reaction, but rather the fact that you don't even know what drugs your test kit can detect. There are colour charts, instructions and information available to tell you what the kit is good for!!
With the Chemical Generation kits, there are 2 (E1 and E2)
E1 is a marquis reagent test, which means it is going to test for MDMA, MDA, MDEA, 2C-B, Speed, and DXM.
so the answer is no, you can't detect everything with an E1 kit, but if you had read the instructions, you'd already know that.

where are you? what pill did you test?
if the pill gave no reaction to the marqus, and you, or someone else, foolishly took it and still "rolled" then chances are it is PMA.
PMA gives no reaction to an E1 test. it does however react to the e2 test. this is why using more than one test is vital. the marquis test has limitations, it has never been claimed that it can detect everything.
