No Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Agonist Withdrawal After Four Day Cessation?

Hey, Bluelight!

I am a chronic abuser of nicotine in the form of chewing tobacco (dip) [namely Grizzly Wintergreen, Copenhagen Straight and Skoal Citrus] (United States). I have not abused these products in ~96 hours.

I have experienced none of the classic symptoms of nicotinic withdrawal.

Nicotine withdrawal is defined by the DSM-IV-TR as a condition in which a person, after using nicotine daily for at least several weeks, exhibits at least four of the following symptoms within 24 hours after reduction or cessation of nicotine use:

Dysphoric or depressed mood: I would say, subjectively, that there would be no change in baseline in my HAM-D score from Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Insomnia: My sleeping pattern has been normalized, if not better than usual.
Irritability, frustration, or anger: I have consulted with those in close relationships with me and they have not noted an increase in these symptoms.
Anxiety: I would say, subjectively, that there would be no change in baseline in my HAM-A score from Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Difficulty concentrating: I have no difficulty concentrating, but keep in mind that I am on a maintenance dosage of amphetamine salts 60mg.
Restlessness: I have not had any restlessness.
Decreased heart rate: I may or may not have had decreased heart rate.

(Cleveland Clinic)

Other sources that cite withdrawal symptoms mention intense cravings for nicotine. I have not had a desire at any point during that time frame to drive to the store to score a can of dip. A variety of factors have lead to four days of non-dip usage. I have either just forgot to stop by the store after work, etc.

I noticed when I had a can of dip in possession that I had a desire to dip "come upon me" during the day, obviously, or the can would not ever empty itself.

I would use nearly a can a day.

I have a dip in my mouth right now as I write this because I passed by my familiar gas station and felt like scoring a can, but not due to an "intense craving". It is simply because I genuinely enjoy the taste of tobacco, it gives me something to do with my mouth, I enjoy the mild buzz it sometimes gives me and it is something to do.

Is there any reason to explain why I would have no reason quitting this habit indefinitely while so many struggle with it? I feel like I could go the rest of my life without having another dip and be OK with it. Is this strange? Is there anyone else like me?

Thanks!

How long have you been on amphetamine for?

Many people say it's just the taste they like when it's really the buzz and associated phenomena.

That said some simply don't get addicted to nicotine.

I smoked for 6 years then I just stopped. I was surprised that there were no feeling of withdrawal whatsoever, just a "damn what the fuck am I going to do now" feeling when waiting for the train in the morning.
