Behind Conroy, with a Chainsaw...
That dark shadow
A flicker of a doubt
Grey and cursed and hopeless
Circles and menaces
The tiny spark of hope
A feeble light in all this darkness
Is the anchor of my life
Pray and hope and scream
That whisk of blackness
Darker than the night
With one shrill screech
Ripping through my soul
A jagged metal edge
On bleeding flesh
It pounces down
That bright spark
Extinguished
What now?
Hope is dead
What else can keep us whole?
Keep us sane? or make us love?
Where is your saviour?
Only fear now is with us
For who can see the shadow
In the darkness?

I like!
If you are not satisfied with what saviors you are given, then make your own, or be your own!
Ripping through my soul

On bleeding flesh
It pounces down
That bright spark
Extinguished
What now?
Hope is dead
What else can keep us whole?
Keep us sane? or make us love?

Perhaps your savior is testing you? Life, to me anyways, is naught but a time trial. It is man who chooses to make it infinetly difficult, not man's savior. Most hardships we face are a result of the society weve created, not a punishment sent from the supernatural. Good luck to ya!

Good points you've raised there. I don't believe in any higher power, as far as I'm concerned its man, and man alone that faces his fears and strives towards his dreams. My saviour in this case, was a bit of a slap at everyone who relies entirely upon other people, or a god, or whatever. The reality is, in the darkness, its only you. Whether you come out of there alive, is a test of your personality and strength.

I could say 'After dark must come light.' but that would be such a cliche. And you know how much we hate cliches. ;)
Emotional writing as always honey.

I like this poem cos it kinda scares me.
It reminds me of the kind of thoughts that go thru my mind when I'm down. The kind of thoughts you don't wanna take too seriously. The feeling of gravity pulling you down.
Yeh, it's confronting and well-writtten, you've definitely captured something there.
2 thumbs up :)

have you considered the collective unconscious of all humans?
:-P dont think this is the correct forum for this discussion
but...
The reality is, in the darkness, its only you
