I was asked this once, what I didnt have the heart to tell her is that I was miserable and wanted to break up with her at the time, I guess thats whats wrong with me, Ill be miserable just to avoid hurting someone else.

and now, for a more sober, enlightened reply
you're "fatal flaw", as you can it, just happens to be mine as well. we tend to spot out only the good in people, and we fall hard and fast for it, only to find out later down the road that there are things about the person we didn't notice... and sometimes its the little things we missed that make us cry at night, or make our breath catch in our throat every now and then.
sometimes i wish i DIDNT have this flaw. its worth more harm than good.
but for me, saying goodbye to someone like that is always the hardest part, becuase you usually dont have to do it physcially, but rather mentally... as you've done here.
this person is not deserving of future tears that she may cause you. tonight, you've done yourself a favor.
and beautifully written, i might add.
best of luck when the right girl finally DOES come along!

dont know about insightful but it was definitely a bit of a pisser Iv been in words for a good six months now and Im pretty sure Ive never seen(?) you drunk. lol oh I still really like this poem by the way, I came back to say that Id read it a few times now and felt it more each time, I just got distracted by Alcohol-girl
