nitrous oxide causing Raynaud's phenomenon

I was diagnosed with Raynaud's phenominon about a year ago and I strongly believe this was caused by doing too much nitrous.

Raynaud's is an over-sensitivity to cold, where your extremities over-react to any minor amount of cold to the point that your body starts going into a hypothermic state. It is not as bad as developing psychosis or something, but it causes you to have vasoconstriction attacks on occasion, especially when being exposed to cold, like holding an icy-cold drink in your hand, or working with frozen food.

I do not believe nitrous itself was the cause, rather, over-exposure to cold from habitual charger reloading. After doing a few boxes of nitrous then the charger tends to frost over and it is easy not to pay attention to this and keep going.

If you're going to do nitrous, do yourself a favor and wear gloves because when you're stoned on it you will just brush off the cold hands.

I've found nitrous to be extremely habit-forming, while not addictive per se, it is very moreish due to its short duration and the habit of loading chargers. It is also probably the most expensive drug to do on a consistent basis.

I really love nitrous but it just isn't worth it to me anymore...and financially for one mid-level evening trip I can get a few hits of molly or a month's worth of mephedrone or 2c-e.

I used to have a crappy bulberator and would often get ice burns on my hands from nitrous. Wearing gloves isn't a bad idea at all!

No, it doesn't hurt generally but it is very annoying. Just a bit cold like holding an icy drink can trigger an attack, and sometimes it takes an hour or more to go away completely. Cold air from like an air conditioner blowing directly on my skin can cause problems, or contact with cold things like holding an icy drink cup, but it seems more related to touching something cold or having some cold air blow on me than actual temperature.

I can fix it completely by using a vasodialator like tiny doses of viagra (10mg or so), but I don't like taking stuff like that too often.

I generally wear socks most of the time so that helps with my feet, and if I get an attack during the day I can usually stand out in the sun for 5 min or so and it will go away.

It is more distracting really than traumatic, but I'm convinced that prolonged exposure to cold and/or frosted nitrous containers caused my body to become oversensitive. So I'm just issuing this as a fair warning to those who enjoy nitrous, please pay attention to the temperature and wear gloves when tripping so you don't over-expose yourself to cold.

As far as I know there's no known cure, it is similar to having allergies in that the body over-reacts to something that ought to be relatively benign.

I should clarify, I wasn't touching the frozen cartridges directly but only the whip creme canister itself. Believe me after going through a few boxes of cartridges the canister starts getting cold and indeed frost starts forming near the cracker part of the canister.

I feel kind of embarrassed about my excessive nitrous use, but that is now all in the past so I can talk about it.

oh alright. i've never done that many myself, but theres another really oldschool bler whos kinda famous for doing cases of whippits at a time (shes awesome). its certainly nothing to be ashamed of

This reminds me of once in the past I thought if I bought a case of 600 carts It would be enough to go through opiate withdrawal without suffering too much.

By day 2 I was out of chargers, freezing, and my throat was raw from doing so many back to back doubles without waiting for the stuff to warm up....

(all my negative effects were gone after a few days)

Needless to say nitrous is very easy to over do and while relativly cheap for its intense effects (under 100 bucks for 600 bulbs of some brands) but it can quickly become expensive if you decide to make a continuous habbit of it.

^ 100 bucks worth of any other substance lasts me quite a bit longer than n2o...but at least it doesn't have withdrawal symptoms or physical dependency.
