I wonder why everyone thinks I'm spiritually/psychologically mad?

I had a 90 minute conversation with the local bishop and he didn't seem to find anything wrong with me. He could relate to my experiences of feeling the presence of Jesus as the same as his. But I guess you're not publically supposed to speak out about these things, which is a sad situation for humanity.

Also, I've been under the observation of roughly 30 doctors, psychiatrists, and healthcare workers for the last 3 months, but they all could find nothing wrong with me, apart from depression, substance abuse, and imnsomnia. Apart from that they insisted I was very sane, intelligent, and upstanding. But what would they know? (I almost have to question myself).

Unless you accept that belief is not a matter of who is right but is a matter altogether different from your shared values and religious jargon, your bishop will keep feeding you christ-krispies.
I would think there are a lot of things wrong with insomnia, symptoms which are all just lumped together and called insomnia. Ditto for depression. Ditto for substance abuse.

Split these from the original thread as they were not relevant to the topic, or the content of P&S.

Cheers.

That was just meant to be a random comment, I didn't mean to create a whole thread about it.

But since you ask, it's a complicated question. Part of it was that I meant someone can't be called mad because they have spiritual experiences, especially if it's by someone who doesn't have (or share the same) spiritual experiences.

No one would call a priest crazy because he talks about his personal experiences with Jesus. They will just think that's what priests are about, but it can also be what others are about. And if they can generally think rationally it's more suitable to say they're religious rather than crazy.

At least that's how 99.9% people perceive me so I think that's going a bit too far (drug-induced psychosis not included, that's a bit different).

You could also say those reactions make sense from a 3rd dimensional perspective and for someone lacking spiritual senses. Though that's not really their fault and they wouldn't understand this concept in the first place.

But there are also some who are wilfully suppressing spiritual truths because they want to keep it for themselves and keep the majority of the population in ignorance, and that's more who I have a problem with.

Oh, and I absolutely BELIEVE in my personal experiences with Jesus. When I can achieve a good connection his voice rings clear in my head like a bell.

When he's there, you know it. You can't mistake him.

But it's not quite what you might imagine. He does come with a powereful healing energy, yes, that's very noticably flowing through you when you cry out in a moment of need. It can be very helpful to calm you down and bring you to your senses. Even when you're going through extreme withdrawal or some other physically induced state.

It can be like a calm in the middle of the storm. But that's basically what he does. He just tries to make you pull yourself together and come back to your senses. To me he represents everything that's healthy.

But he's a hard master, he's not one to indulge you or tell you what you want to hear. He's very demanding and wants you to find your inner strength and has all kinds of high ideals. So that can be hard if you're already in a tough situation.

And don't even think about arguing with him. Just like in the Bible he always gets the last word and you can't fault anything he says. But I've grow to appreciate him because I know he's right and tries to lead you on the most constructive path.
