Had a mighty fall this weekend and had to go to the ER at 1am on a Friday night. Got x-rays, everything came out negative but my limb was so badly bruised. The doc perscribed me Vicodin (30) w/ maybe 1 refill . The next night I went to another ER room beacuse the pain intensified and the bruise got worse. That doc gave me a script for Darvocet-N. He wrote on the script # 20 w/ the refill box WIDE open. PhreeX could probably hit this question on the nose, but would a ER doc pescribe #120 Darvocet, or more likely #20 pills w/ a couple of refills? As you could see, there is plenty of room to put a 1 infront of the 20, but would this be too much from an ER doc? Any input would help....Remember y'all, the ER room is not such a bad place after all.

You should punch the doctor VERY HARD for prescribing you Darvocet N (aspirin has more analgesic value). Then complain about the pain in your hand and try to get something better.

I have always found ER rooms (especially on a weekend night) to be great fun. Nevermind the drugs. It's just fun to watch all the prostitutes, psychoatics, junkies and homeless people. Wish they would put a public cam in an ER.

If you put a "1" in to make it 120 pills, the pharm is gonna call the doc. They are trying to ease your pain , not get you hooked. Plus 120 pills is a lot to count out, the phamacist will check so that they know they won't be wasting time. Those guys arn't stupid, and Rx's are much more complicated then they look.
Altering a script is a felony.

so-think it is safe to put a '1' in the refill box since #120 tabs are too much? Everything on the presription is simple, no crazy latin writing or anything. I just feel that maybe the doc left the refill box wide open for ME to fill it in, yah right...
