Nightmares feeling real?

Its funny sometimes when I realize im dreaming its already too late lol. Another funny thing that I remembered from that night before the nightmares happened. I was getting head infront of my old elementary school from my old co worker I use to have a crush on, how I went from that to a nightmare I will never know. She was like 10 years older than me and was engaged but that didn't stop me from flirting or trying to sleep with her lol, im 22 btw. I only got to 2nd base with her I guess you can say. When I would catch her in the break room by herself ( which I took advantage of cuz she always took the first lunch and was always there by herself ) she would let me feel up on her where ever and we made out once in a while in there, nothing too crazy and she admitted she liked it. Damn I miss my old job.. lol. Anyways, damn ksa! thats a crazy ass dream! haha. My life right now isnt pretty stressful. All i do is sleep late, wake up around noon and watch TV and surf the web and hang out with my friends like once a week. The only thing im stressed about I guess is not having money to pay bills right now. Im borrowing money from friends and family of whom I intend to pay back once I start working. I use to go out all the time with my friends too while I had a job so I guess thats added to my stress since I cant go out as much as I use to. WHat do u guys think?

I forgot to add I dont really sleep anymore either. Some nights I just nap for 2 or 3 hours and stay awake for another 3 and sleep another 3 hours until daylight has come.

I don't think I'm capable of having a good dream. I have always had terrible nightmares. War and planes, waking up during surgery, brutal attacks, OD'ing, dying and seeing God!, getting shot in the head, robberies, government chasing me and the list goes on. I would stay up all night and into the next morning when I was younger just so the sun was up because it didn't seem to happen much if it was light. If I'm not sleeping with someone now, I have to do the same thing... wait until it's light to go to sleep. My dreams feel so real and it's so weird. I think drugs have made it worse now, because I get terrible sleep paralysis now and then when I'm finally out of it, I feel like I got my ass kicked. I get so sore and uncomfortable. When sleep paralysis happens, I feel a ton a whispers and weird sounds, like I'm going into another dimension or something and it's really creepy. I also feel a ton a pressure on my body.

That just happend to me tonight, sleep paralysis and whispers. I thought I heard someone breaking into my house and people talking. I was awake but couldnt move for a couple of seconds until I told myself if I dont move right now then my family and I will be in danger so I gave it all my might to move and fully wake up to nothing that was there and ive been up since 2am and now its 6:47am

Isn't it so creepy though? It's such a weird feeling.

All I gotta say is that it seems you guys got a real problem with sleeping patterns and it seems like you got anxiety as well. Dreams, no matter how weird they are, represent something you experienced or something you though about, but the dreams show it in the most fucked up way sometimes.

They are harmless when you still go back to sleep after you wake up. Otherwise you either gotta keep a dream journal and try to calm yourself down during dreams, or go to a doctor who could prescribe you stuff that will knock you out. First option is preferred.

As for the sleep paralysis (it's also mentioned in the wikipedia page) do you often sleep on your back?? Cause my mom often has it and she always sleeps on her back, my sister had also one since she has to sleep on the back, and I heard lot's of people in Japan, too, when they sleep in their traditional "beds".

I have never had those dreams (and I hope I won't ever) and maybe it's because I'm always lying on my stomach.

So if you noticed that you indeed often lie on your back just try the other way or sleep on the side. I hope I could help some with this.

No, it actually hurts too much to sleep on my back.
I always sleep nearly on my stomach or on my side.

I have a question about the dream journal. When I wake up and write down my dreams.. do I go over it before I go to sleep again to remember what I dreamed about?

Yea when I kept my journal I would write it down after waking up and then for me it was just a normal thing to go over it. Sometimes however I was so sleepy I would fall back to sleep right away.

After a while I got good at it and was able to remember dreams much better and sometimes if I got lazy I would write them down in da morning.

fwiw in addition to the stress/psych stuff people have mentioned, some potential physical causes of hyper-vivid dreams are hypoglycemia and vitamin B6 surplus in the body.

I do.
I dabbled with things I shouldn't have as a kid, so I think that could have something to do with it.

Sleeping pattern and dreams are slowly getting back to normal. I guess I really was stressing about not having a job. I actually get a full nights sleep now going to sleep around midnight and waking up around 9am :D
