NEWS: 'Youngsters offered lollies that look a lot like ecstasy' - SMH 12-05-02

Just tested one of the "Air Surge" mints.
E1 (Marquis): no reaction
E2 (Mandelin): no reaction
Just another reason to test your goods, peoples :P

oh jeez man, they got wizz-fizz which looks like speed/coke and now this lolly's looking like lolly's my god.
and i bet ronald mc donald is endorsing them too.
come ride my k-donkey

Hehe, Does anyone remember Fags? Ofcourse you do! All the kids in year 2 used to buy them and pretend theyre smoking cigarettes and then ate em ofcourse.
They got busted, and they had to change their name to Fads, and removed the red tip on the end, so it was a Fad (Yeah! One of those!) instead of a fag.

I loved fags...
oh and yeah i bought a pack of these today and all my friends agree they look very similar to pills in size and shape, etc... also their advertising campaings seem to be directed to older people in clubs... im not sure if any of it was deliberate... but its a real possibility... anything to make a bit of money... and im sure these will... they are handy little things i think :)

a day in the life of a dodgy media drug hyped dealer...
la de da...do di dum dum...
*shaves excess off vitamin c + echinacea tablets*
hmmm...got that nice authentic speckled look about them aye!
*etches a big E on one side and a score on the other, puts them in a bag with life saver holes, birth control pills, dog worming tablets, Trebor 24/7 lollies and mini-musks and goes clubbing*
teeheeheehee...ooooooh!... little kiddies here i come! no-one will be able to tell they arent real! im going to be rich RIIIIIIIIICH! mwwwuuaaaaaaahahahahahaaaaa!!
The End
I dunno, some people should eat more mints instead of more pills... know what i mean? *grin!*
Andromeda :)
p.s. please excuse the pathetic late night imaginings of my sleep-deprived brain...

the thing is, they actually taste realy nice... well the lemon ones do anyways...
I agree, especially for something that's sugarfree.
But they do look so much like pills that they're stupid! And saw the commercial again, when they take one the edges of the screen go smudgy. It seems obvious that they are trying to make them seem like pills. Pathetic!

And going back to HM again, Don't consume too many of these, as they definately do have a laxative effect. :P

Here's what they look like...
trebor.jpg

they have these little green specks in them which looks pretty suspect. Reminds me of the little specks you get in real pills.

Hey, they DO look like biccies!!! To be honest, i wouldn't have picked it up if there wasn't all the media hype.
Thats it i'm sold. Definately going to go out and buy a packet tomorrow. What a novelty... how many biccies can you down in a session??? ;)
Now we know what those marketing managers and advertising agents get up to... closet cookie munchers!!!

i think someone who takes drugs would be the only one to actually notice it looks like a pill.
And I dun think they are gonna substitute a 24/7 lollie for a pill, no matter how much caffine.
And hiding the pills in the containers... please...
*stuffs pills down underpants*
*throws away lolly container*

i think someone who takes drugs would be the only one to actually notice it looks like a pill.
That's crap, anyone who has ever seen a panadol would think 24-7's look like a pill. If you didn't know what it was, you would be stupid to think it wasn't a pill of some kind! They DO look more like a pill (any kind) than any lolly.
I suppose a bigger problem than kids thinking they were e's is little kids being given them as lollies, and then going and finding mummy's panadols and eating a whole box because they're just like the lollies they were given.

God these things are so fucken addictive...
Just make sure everyone takes heed of the warning: EXCESS COMSUMPTION MY HAVE LAXATIVE EFFECT.
blargh... *runs to bathroom*
With further inspection, I thought this was a piece of dodgey marketing taken from the website, trebor 24-7
Trebor 24-7 Air Surge
Size: Nicely concealed
Colour: Menthol fresh
Weight: 8g
Amount of Mints: 14
Manufactured: Manufactured in China for all distribution countries. (See back of pack for details)
Effect: Clears your head and invigorates the senses
Trebor 24-7 says: Clear your head with an invigorating menthol blast. Warning! Due to lasting invigorating effects, do not take Air Surge with any other mint.
I'm very surprised they didn't put, manufactured in amsterdam.
The people in the clubbing scene all look like their off their scones on something. Some guy obviously in a speed psychosis keeps pacing back and forth with a tray of drinks.

I finally bought some and fuck they look so much like real pills, This is a fucking brillant marketing campaigne, i mean if it wasnt for this thread i would have never bought them.

This site is a pisser!! lol.. the music in the blue room pumps!!.. well there marketing werk.. I actually brought them to see if they actually did look like pills... and well.. you could prolly convince some chumps that they are...
the same you could probably do with prescription drugs.. and counter drugs... so whats the deal??..

^^ sarcasm from me

Syringe sweets cause concern
Sweets shaped like heroin syringes are causing concern among parents and MPs.
The "Freekee Drops" sell for 10p and people are worried that they could tempt children to start taking real drugs.
The sweets come in a packet which show a dribbling cartoon character who has rolling, spaced-out eyes.
The tube is full of red liquid which is shaped like a syringe and has to be squeezed to get the contents out.
"Despicable" sweets
Brian Donohoe, a Labour MP in Glasgow, Scotland said the "despicable" item was bought from an ice-cream van by a five- year-old who mimicked using it to inject drugs.
And some children have even told their parents they are "addicts" to the sweet.
Brian Donohoe wants the sweets banned in the UK. He's also asked Tony Blair to pursuade the Spanish Government to stop making them.

And later in tonight's bulletin: Pharmacutical companys warned that their products may be encouraging the use of illegal "Ecstacy" Tablets... But first, here's Tom with the weather!
:)

This story has just turned up in New Zealand (and whoever said we were behind you guys, eh? ;) )
Funniest thing about it was that they quoted some expert as saying that "24-7" was underground street slang in drug using circles for "something that keeps you awake, gives you energy. It is a slang for these kinds of substances [E and speed]".
Gosh, and here was stupid unhip me thinking it had something to do with hours and days....
