We heard that once he inhaled it froze his lung's causing him to pass out. That's when his brother found him unconscious and tried to wake him but it was too late

Everyone asking about the danger of butane: google sudden sniffers death syndrome.

Basically one of the main reasons is that it sensitizes your heart to the effects of adrenaline, causing even a slight increase in adrenaline levels to lead to cardiac arrest. Also, the temperature of the gas can cause laryngospasm making breathing very difficult. Butane, if I remember correctly, is a bad one for sudden sniffer's death syndrome, along with a few other inhalants.

It's not something I want to try, especially as several BLers have lost people to Butane.
