[NEWS] Steps to ban 'drug' plants alarm hobby gardeners

Firstly, the greens are Anti gun - Anti fishing (they want to ban up to 80% of QLD's coast ALONE, thus destroying hundreds of fishing communities and communities that live off fishing/ tourism etc.. )

They are pro one world government. Do not let them sugar coat it. ITS A BAD BAD BAD THING..

Sure they might want the herb legalised..who gives a fuck. Your a stoner and you still get your weed with no troubles. Its not really effecting you. Your not in jail from pot. Its not effecting you.

I know the "law" sure as hell doesn't stop me getting damn high on a daily basis.

Its not going to change and sadly things are only destined to get worse and worse and more draconian as we continue to become a nation of pathetic, whimpering cowards that insteade of taking to the streets vent on internet forums and the collums section of online articles.

Rupert murdoch left this country claiming we were a nation that accepted anything and everything. We thrive off mediocrity.

I personally am moving to central asia for work and a more (believe it or not) free society. If you are wealthy in asian countries they can be far better then even "the lucky country"

The game is rigged folks, outcomes are pre planned, politicians lie and follow agenda's set down not in parliment. But overseas meetings that take place annually..

Foreign bankers dictate the rules. JFK was the last real president, but after taking him out in broad daylight...they have since ran the world without a hitch.

And for what it's worth, I know of heavy pot smokers who have died of lung cancer. Yes there may have been other mitigating circumstances, but pot didn't save these people. Many more studies need to be done before it's announced to be an effective cancer preventative/treatment in humans. Sure Cannabidiol has been shown to have anti tumour properties, and it quite likely does have effect on lessening the severity of some strokes, but to be suggesting it's - at this stage - a valid replacement for chemotherapy, is something else all together...

you couldnt replace chemo, but adding cannabis to chemotherapy over other anti-nauseants could definitely give better outcomes

Go and watch a documentary called The End of the Line then come back to me saying the jobs of maybe a few thousand fishermen are more important than fish stocks. The Canadian government thought so in the 80's (though that was more like 40,000 jobs) and now northern atlantic cod are all but extinct and those jobs have bene lost anyway.

Anyway don't mind me, back on topic...
 
Funny thing is, I don't even smoke marijuana and haven't in a long time, but I do support it fully.

London, United Kingdom: The administration of THC in combination with conventional anti-leukemia therapies enhances the effectiveness of anti-cancer agents in vitro (e.g., in a test tube or petri dish), according to preclinical data to be published in the journal Leukemia & Lymphoma.

Investigators at St George's University and St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London reported that THC acts synergistically with other cytotoxic agents (toxic agents that effect specific cells) to target and kill luekemic cells. "Overall, these results demonstrate for the first time that a combination approach with THC and established cytotoxic agents may enhance cell death," authors concluded.

Investigators had previously reported that THC was a "potent inducer of apoptosis" (cell suicide) in leukemic cell lines.

Earlier this year, the journal Cancer Research reported that the administration of cannabinoids halts the spread of a wide range of cancers, including prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and brain cancer.

Commenting on the study, NORML Deputy Director Paul Armentano said that the findings might indicate a future role for cannabinoids as an adjunct to standard anti-cancer treatments like chemotherapy.
The study's authors estimated that anti-cancer drug derived from cannabinoids could become available within "two to three years."

I enjoy how you state these claims as fact when in reality they have less basis than more widely accepted views. Just because it was in Zeitgeist doesn't make it true. The world is not run by foreign bankers, the Illuminati, or any other secret cabal. Yes, there are many people who have far more power than any individual or group should, but even if their goal truly is global governance or 'a new world order' they are nowhere near actualising it.

I do, however, agree that there is a seeming trend towards more totalitarian/Draconian laws such as this one (and the internet filter, etc.) which will progressively limit our freedom.
 
Isn't this legislation the same as "banning murder on thursdays" ??

The chemical is already illegal, why do we now need to ban the hundreds of plants its in?

Does anyone who has knowledge of this topic know what the actual chances of this legislation being passed are? (with the specific restrictions on the plants being able to be grown for non drug related purposes)
 
On a related note, last night something large, and possibly furry has attacked my San Pedro, leaving a 1.5m arm at right angles. :(

Looks like it will need to be disposed of before this law is passed ;)
