Ok so here's a little background. Had norco habit for about 6 years. Not too bad but 30mg a day steady for 6 years. I then stumbled upon Subs from a friend.trying to kick the norco habit I tried it. It worked amazing I had minimal to no withdraw from the norco. So anyway I began to take subs to get me off the pills. I started low at like 2mgs. Then slowly over time increased I've tried on 2 other occasions getting off but always have gone back because I can't deal with the sub withdrawal. Smh I have gotten up as high as 16mg for awhile but have steadily been at 8mgs for a good 10 months. I am jumping cold turkey from 8mgs. I have no choice im done. I have 2 beautiful children whom I love more than life. I have to be done. I have no script anymore and people I have gotten them from before I no longer communicate with. I know everyone says the Thomas recipe and to taper ect. But I don't have that option. Not only am I out of subs but im finally ready to be me again. I can't live like this anymore. I love my children way to much! So I took my last 4mg of a sub730pm last night. I work 3rd shift and can't take any time off while I withdrawal Smh. I guess im just looking for advice, support or just any experience anyone has of jumping from a high sub dose cold turkey successfully. Please help!!

I'm so glad to hear that you're ready to take your life back! I am somewhat in the same boat in terms of needing/wanting to quit fentanyl to get myself back, as I can feel how much this has taken from my life over the past year. I do not have experience with subs, though I do plan to do a two-three week subutex taper off of the fentanyl when the time comes. I know its scary and I know its going to be hell, but just keep thinking of all the things you'll gain by kicking this awful habit. I've heard that sub w/d is fairly extended due to the drug's long half life, so I'm not quite sure how long you're in for. I wish you all the strength in the world! Its somewhat silly, but something that helps me is putting up post-it notes around the house in places I'll see them with reasons why I'm quitting/doing something. Maybe you can put up some mantras for yourself to look at when things get really bad. I see you posted yesterday, how are you feeling today?
