Howdy all,

It is nice to find a place open-minded people. Here's my story and problem.

I was diagnosed with chrohn's colitis about ten years ago and have been dealing with the pain on my own but was recently hospitalized due to a sever flare up and extreme pain. I also deal with muscle and back pain due to being a professional fighter for twenty years.

I was initially prescribed norco 10. Recently, my doctors' have become very controlling of my meds. They will at most give me ten at a time whereas before I was getting sixty. This makes life extremely difficult. Without the norco I suffer from poor concentration, muscle aches, and severe back and stomach pain.

I will be honest, I enjoy taking the norco because it alleviates all of these problems with no narcotic side-effects.

What can I do? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
bean

Welcome to Bluelight!

The question you asked here will likely be best asked elsewhere; however I would personally tell them that you are a legitimate pain patient, and chron's disease is not a laughing matter. I have friends who have described to me what the go through, it's not something hydrocodone's going to cut.

If you can't find a doctor in your area, you could move to an area where doctors are more lenient on patients with real pain. I am sorry to hear they are being very strict with your pain meds, and I wish you the best of luck.

Hi. Nice to meet you. I am very new to this community as well. Have you considered going to a pain management specialist? The only reason I can think of for your doc's restricting the medications is they feel that you are using them not as prescribed. ( I am guilty of that!). However, as Captian.heroin stated you have legitimate reasons to be on a pain control regiment. So try seeking a second opinion. Good luck.

Now I'm no specialist, but from what I've seen, the two posts above are very intelligent and if I knew what I was talking about, it would definitely be what I would reccommend. Welcome to Bluelight :)

Welcome to BL!

I am a chronic pain patient myself and although my circumstances are different, I still understand what you are going through.

When I first started getting treatment for my back pain all was well at first but then my doctor too became very controlling over my medications so I sought a second opinion from a pain specialist and haven't looked back. If you are unhappy with the treatment you are receiving then I suggest you do the same. Pain is not a joke and can be very debilitating and degrade ones quality of life.

Other alternatives you can try in the mean time would be things like Kratom, wild lettuce opium, or ashwaghanda root. They are natural and do work fairly well.

Again, if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a PM and I will help you as best as I can :)
