Erm... do you know what generalizing (sic) is?
Anyways, I was talking about a
specific incident. If I was to say someone who raped, murdered and mutilated 32 school girls was perhaps a little loco in el coco, would that be generalising? I know it can't be used as a direct analogy, just using it to make a point
I love how people are pulling figures out of their rectums here... someone saying that 80% of Australians are racist??? I mean, wtf? There are racist people in this country, but I'd like to see a country without racism. I honestly believe most people in this country don't give two fucks where you're from, provided you live by the rules that our country has put in place and that you respect this country... I know that's all I ask.
This whole detention center issue is getting out of hand. A few vocal minorities have come in saying how bad it is. The media gets hold of it and tells us how it is "the shame of the nation" or some equally tripe filled headline. The sheep that are so prevalent in our population pick up on this and do what they're told and be outraged by these horrendous conditions.
I often say how much I despise the media, but it isn't really their fault, it's the fault of a society that has forgotten how to look after themselves, and need to be babysitted through their whole lives.
We're supposedly one of the most racist nations on earth, yet we've never started a war because we think someone elses race/religion/beliefs are wrong (yes, I know we have faught in them, but that's an entirely other story). How many nations on the planet can say that? Very, very few.
