new worthwhile ethnobotanicals?

A hippy gardner I met on the street told me that he makes his own simple blend: he uses two parts peppermint, one part lavender, and one part chamomile. The dried herbs are ground in a kitchen mortar and pestle, and rolled into a cigarette.

This blend can be smoked alone, or with cannabis. It is very slightly psychoactive on its own, mostly because of the chamomile. The blend has a lovely taste, and provides a pleasant, calm feeling which lasts about ten minutes. This effect might not be noticed by people accustomed to stronger psychocative smokes.

Of course there are many other common herbs that could be used, but this blend is particularly pleasant tasting and not very harsh. If someone wanted to experiment, just about any herb used in herbal teas works fairly well, although tea itself (Camilia sinensis) doesn't work so well as it tends to be a harsh smoke. As stated above, catnip is reasonably nice. Mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris) is enjoyed by some people, but it is somewhat psychoactive in a way others find unpleasant, and some people do not like the taste. Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) tastes nice, if a bit strong.

kanna helps when I'm in a bad mood, not really recreational though.

Kava gives me some pleasant tingles in the back of my head, better than most ethnobotanicals I've tryed.

Sinicuichi, just read the negative reports on erowid. It's active, makes music sound better.

Blue lotus gave me a 15 minute buzz an a 2 hour headache.

Kratom works, if I take enough to enjoy I'll get sick though

I think Pedicularis Racemosa may be my new favorite non-tricho ethnobotanical;)
Nigellia sativa oil isnt bad either.
