Just wanted to say hello to everyone! Have googled questions before and have got many answered from this site..so i decided it was time to become a member myself.cant wait to become a bluelighter! Any advice on quickest way to get there? Does this count as my 1st post..anyway glad to be a member..look forward to chatting w/you all in the future..i have many ailments that cause me pain for 10+ years as well..so if theres anything i can do to help or questions i can answer..let me know..id like to think i have aquired quite a bit of knowledge thru the years dealing w/pain drs and prescriptions..hope i can help!

Hello Seeking...Welcome from a fellow newby! =D I enrolled in PM in January of 2014, but have yet to find "answers". I joined BL to hopefully talk with people who are coping with chronic pain. My PM doctor is not interested in the "hard cases" like me. I suffer with multiple health issues also.

Sry to hear that dixi..if you have any questions feel free to ask away..will be glad to help in anyway if i can..i know how it is and feels to be in constant pain and deal w/doctors..it can and does definitely suck dealing w/docs sometimes..especially if youre like me and have to deal w/several different docs each month..seems they want to play tug a war w/ me sometimes..lol..one doc telling me to do this another saying no dont..do this..blah blah..lol...all the while we are the ones hurting like hell!! Dont think they get it sometimes..getting hurt and dealing w/pain for a few days is one thing..totally different than being in chronic pain!! Not being able to escape pain for 10+years..is frustrating and depressing sometimes.(alot of the times)!! Anyway..not to ramble on about me..again if anything i can help with..would be more than happy to try to answer any questions or if you ever just need someone to talk to!! Thx for the greetings guys..hope to see you guys around!

Good to "meet" you, Seeking...YES, I NEED someone to talk to. My issues are explained in my intro posts, etc. Can you share with me your health issues? Although I am well aware that chronic pain requires a multiple disciplinary approach...and that different folks respond individually to pain meds...What has worked for you?

Depression is the companion of chronic pain. Doctors who suggest that "depression" is "causing" one's pain has it totally backwards. The fucking pain is REAL and documented over decades of diagnostic/surgical records. Thankfully, my PM doctor, (though an idiot) KNOWS my pain is real. He questions HTF I have managed 4 decades without opiates? He doesn't understand that my GI issues trump potential pain relief. It's a rollercoaster.

Hey dixi! Great to meet you as well! Unfortunately the only relief i have found are from ice and medication.. My c-3 ,t6,7,8,9 ,and l-3,4,5 s-1 discs are extruded herniations ,i have extensive nerve damage in my c-3 t-6-8 and l-4,5 s-1 vertebrate and just found out i am showing signs of rsl. Which i am currently researching. My pain started as protruding discs in my t-spine..which i didnt even know at the time was a form of herniation.. My doc simply gave me percoset and told me i would be on pain meds the rest of my life..I wish now i would have researched but the internet was not as common a tool then as it is today.. Not understanding how much worse my problem could get left untreared..i masked this problem for yrs w/pain meds..working for the next 7 yrs caused quite a bit more and permanent damage to my spine and the nerves in..i eventually got to the point where i was hardly able to stand and had alot of trouble walking..i also and still do often get a feeling brought aboit !by slight movements w/my arms and legs like im being burned or stung by a hornet..this is from the permanent nerve damage..i really am at my wits end..I am SOOOO TIRED of constantly hurting..dont know what to do anymore..my neurosurgeon recommended surgery but needed more recent mri's..he scheduled but medicaid refused to pay for another.w/o me first going thru physical therapy.. Did that w/out improvement so mri was scheduled once again and looked like i was close to possibly getting surgery and at least some relief but as my luck goes.. My son just turned 18.. So my Medicaid was terminated 3days before my mri and 10 days before my appt w/neurosurgeon to get a date set for surgery.. So now im back to having only the one option..meds to mask some of my pain..and honestly i dont even know how im going to be able to do that..i havent been able to work since oct of 2013.. My bank acct is gone..brokevas a joke ..mo job ..mo insurance.. P! Appmnt is 225$ each month and meds are almost $1000 each month..i am going to tap on your nsme in above post right afyer i send this mssg..i hope that will take me to your intro posts so i can see and learn more about you.. Being new here ..im not 100% sure how to get there..if that wont allow me or there is an easier way can you pls let me know..my isues may be different but iam very sry to hear that you too are unfortunately having to deal w/chronic pain as well.. So i am going now to try to find your intro posts to learn more about the issues you have causing your pain and woll try to re post..less about me next time? thx again for listening.. Really helps hsving someone to talk to in a similar situation.. I just hope that i can be of some help to you..or st least bring some relief or comfort thru conversation!

Hey Seeking...Thanks for responding, though I am sorry for your pain and suffering. It helps to have someone who understands day to day pain that will exist for the rest of their lives. I often feel I don't belong on BL because...well, I just don't. :\

I've never used recreational drugs at all. I don't fault or judge anyone who chooses that lifestyle, but it's not for me personally. I don't speak the language so I don't understand the lingo, for the most part. I've tried other CP forums, but my frank and honest commentary is not well-received.

I can empathize with your spine issues, as I have some too. Neuro told me definitively that surgery (for me) will fail, whether cervical or lumbar. I had the MRI and full body bonescan. I have reversed curvature of my neck, with herniated discs from C5 to T1. I also have blown discs and anular tears @ L4-5, S1. Surgeon said extensive surgery and hardware could "correct" the curvature, but hardware would fail within 5 years, causing even more problems. I believe the "blood filled tumors" the scan revealed along my spine is residual endo.

Either way...no surgeon will touch me. They advised me to seek PM, which has been a BUST. Can you share what meds you've tried and what has worked for you? I realize meds are not a OSFA, but shared experience can be beneficial in pain management. I've tried MS Contin (NO) Oxycodone (?) Fentanyl (NO) back to Oxycodone. I'm hard-headed and will not take anything that does not work for me.

I do not worship gods in white coats. I've learned to be my own advocate. I suffer no idiots and I sometimes poke BEARS! :!

I have a salty mouth and an often macabre sense of humor. I look forward to "talking" to you.
