This is an area I've been giving a lot of occasional thought to, and am working on in the background of my already busy mind.
It's something that I conceive is possible without the expensive pieces of equipment, without TLC plates, and without much chemistry experience required for the user.
Suffice to say, I'm looking into it (Yes - I'm a 'mirror man'). I need to get over some hurdles, and maybe patent it too, so it's a LONG haul job.

Good discussion. Is there a way to dissolve a pill and then somehow remove the impurities so only the clean MDMA is left?

Is it not illegal to determine the quantity of a controlled substance such as mdma in a pill in the united states?

Well, thats like the major problem. Even if u like test a pill for MDMA, what is like likelyhood that the pill was mixed different. Eg, half of the pill has more MDMA that the other half...???
Not every pill is the same. So, if u like test a pill, u like have to test the whole pill which fucks it. Then u test the next pill which, also fucks it....??? What are u like left with, no pills.
It would be unreal to test pills on MDMA, but as what cost...???
U would have to X-Ray the fuckers...??? To get a good result and then STILL be able to pop 'em.
Last word, USA is to tight about pills...sorry to be honest, but you guys are like...GO TO JAIL for anything.....IMAO

OK how about this for a thought. There has to be a way to slow down the reagent reaction right? (this might also help for MDA vs MDMA) Help me here chem people.
Well if you could slow down the reaction enough you could get a rough estimate of purity by the lenght of time it took to turn to indigo.
Also if you started with a set amount of powder (say 1mg) you could estimate not only the purity but the actuall mgs in the whole pill. Of course you would need a pretty acurate scale but thats only a few hundred bucks.
