Yeah it's finished but I think the wrong one got uploaded, the finished one has the "acid" graffiti higher up, I'll check it out in a bit not at my computer atm
 
Would love to see DC's banner put in place so we can work on the next one. That would make 2 that we have successfully improved. I notified @Xorkoth a few times and @deficiT as well for some help but no response as of yet. @Negentropic you are doing such good work that I am excited to get going on the next one. Maybe banners aren't as exciting to some as they are to me so this may be a low priority if they are having other issues. Just my impatience to beautify the forums coming through.

Yeah, @Xorkoth is the one that's been working with the images. It involves a more in depth type of coding that he is more familiar with.

I could if he gave me some instruction. In fact, it would be nice if he could. But that's probably more work than just doing it himself, so, whichever he prefers I'm cool with, I'm sure it'll get done. I hadn't been following this thread so didn't even know DC was getting a new one and then I saw it yesterday. Looks pretty cool so far imo

Have you seen the one he did for TDS?

Yeah, he and I are working to update all the banners one by one and put some art into them.

Hopefully by summer time the whole joint is going to look snazzy,

Sure did, I like it. I liked the previous one too, as well as the one in DC, but the new ones are definitely better imo.

Some of them I feel like are fine. But definitely some sprucing up is in order.

Like I said previously, I would like to get some instruction of how to do it, I honestly haven't even poked my head in to look when I found out it was html code and not just simply uploading an image.

At this point I pretty much just use my admin powers to eliminate spam, delegate mod powers, and deliver heavily concentrated doses of justice.

Okay check out the DC banner. I had to also move some of the text around, mostly the Drug Culture text that animates. I think we probably should have it there, because the graffiti might be hard to read for non=-native English speakers, and there may be other reasons it is a good thing to have actual text data in the header. But I like the way it is now, let me know if you disagree

i think they wanted it where its not so stretched out, so you can see the stuff on each side
 
Oh there's nothing I can do about that with CSS (at least not without distorting the image, like if I changed its width but not its height), the image has to be edited. But honestly there isn't much empty space right now. On mobile you'll probably just see the graffiti but that's probably fine. But let me know if you guys had some other idea or want to rearrange the image some more.
 
Hi there @Xorkoth ...Thanks for stopping by and thanks for inserting the new DC banner. It looks great as it is. The caricatures on the side were cool but like you said they won't fit. The guy painting the graffiti of DC is cool enough.

Appreciate it..........now on to the next one I go. Maybe next week @Negentropic and I will come up with our next project.

it looks fine on both 1440p and 1080p for me, xorky is right about the coding there is nothing left to do on that front

the only thing is the previous "Drug Culture" text, if it were removed nothing would be covered

but I'm not exactly trying to step on any toes or redesign the site here, which was probably my biggest concern in doing all this

I can make all the cute graphics I want but I don't want to redesign the site if it doesn't need to be, it's not my call really
 
I am not 100% sure that I am right in this feeling, but I feel like removing the "Drug Culture" text entirely wouldn't be ideal. Reasons being it would be harder to read the graffiti part f the image for some, and if someone has any accessibility text to speech going on, it won't be able to do anything with the graffiti letters in the image. And if someone has translation on in their browser, same deal. Since I moved it to not cover anything, I think it's good, but let me know if anyone has other thoughts on the matter. And also let me know whenever you have any more you want me to insert.

Hey hon. I don't think anyone thinks we are trying to redesign the site. We have only done 2 banners. TDS is gorgeous and needed a spruce up job. The one that was there was very basic. No color. Just a guy standing on the beach. DC was boring as well. The graffiti was a great deign.

We aren't going to redo all the banners. Some forums don't even have one. They are blank. We are just adding a bit of color and pizzazz. Some banners are great the way they are. I think that all the powers that be are behind us and are really liking the new changes. The art is well done and is in good taste. I think that everyone trusts our judgment. They will let us know if they prefer we not do any more.

Half of the existing banners are fine the way they are. There were just some forums that were either blank or were designed years ago and needed a bit of a makeup job. Little lipstick. A touch of blush. Maybe a bit of mascara.

I hope that next week we can work on another one....if you are up to it? I know that everyone here likes your art work and from doing the DC one now you know that the outside writing needs to be squeezed in a bit more to the center. I'm pretty sure @Xorkoth and @mal3volent don't mind inserting them once they were done. Mal could have finished the DC one ( he can insert them ) if it had not needed sizing. I love your work.

I am having a really bad weekend >_< my serotonin system is jacked and now I'm experiencing major akathisia due to a massive serotonin/dopamine imbalance, kratom withdrawal, and if I don't take them I go into psychosis it's so fucked

I'll fix up DC and the others soon

pray for my serotonin receptors, they need healing energy

I am so damn sorry that you feel like shit. I guess that ayahusca stuff really was bad. I really hope that you can feel better soon. Shame you have to quit kratom...do you think that it is contributing to your problems?

Don't worry abut fixing up anything. Get feeling better and we can tackle this at a later date. Your health is way more important. Love ya

Yeah, it's making my serotonin issue even worse, dangerously worse actually.

Both a blessing and a curse, really. It would be nice to get off the kratom or at least get down to a low daily dose. Last 2 days I've taken less than 5g/day.
 
Take care of yourself man. Any site banners are WAY second fiddle to your physical and mental health. ❤️

But yes, we're glad to have you contributing, and it is definitely true that no one feels like you're stepping on any toes at all. I'm just thankful we have people who want to do this sort of thing, and are good at it. :)

Together with all of our skills, we can make this place the best it can be, that's how I feel about it.
