sitting in a dark room
hoping these words help shed
old skin
there is a memory
of a life lived in a black and white dream
a dismal apartment outside of detroit
where the light of truth dared not slip in trough the cracks
inforgiving grey skies
a dealer peddling us our own
broken spirits
breathing for purchased
medicated peace of mind
if those walls could talk
the lowest lows only in proportion
to the high
and now after taking an arrogant bite
of heaven and hell all rolled into one
the taste complex
till i couldnt tell which one was which
you my witness
i cant hold on and
you cant let go
so you're high and i'm bone fucking dry
restless sleep
too much to run from
i want you to be strong but
i'm know you're only afraid
of yourself
the seams of this heart too frayed
to hold anything else
left empty again.

Oh my god this was absolutely amazing!! Truly captivating writing. This is the sort of piece that I come back every day to read again and again.
