If you have pain, there are many other options, instant-release oxycodone is still available, with or without APAP or another NSAID, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, and many others.
OxyContin was not (and is not) the only opiate pain medicine around, I don't why people think this. Just get your doctor to switch you to something else if the new OPs aren't working for you.
