Hey everyone, just throwing up a quick post saying hello. I've lurked blue light and about 10+ years ago it was all I obsessively read going through opiate w/d and gets some credit for me getting through.

Names 8bitnick, I'm from Tacoma/Seattle and 34. I've been an opiate addict for over 15 years and currently I'm weaning down from a huge methadone dose. Just thought I should introduce myself.

I've never had methadone, but it has to be a much better option than fucking with the opioids available at street level these days; fentanyl-flavoured oxys and dope consisting of ten different animal tranquilizers and research chemicals (and maybe a milligram of actual heroin).

At least with pharmaceutical methadone, you know what you're getting and how much you're taking.

Good luck getting off the methadone, definitely best to take it slow because the wd from that stuff is hell.

Also much better to get off everything completely if you no longer want to do opiates, just from the point of view of leading your life - you don't have to panic about getting sick if your script hasn't come in, you don't have to worry about how to arrange your supply when travelling etc, it can just be off your mind for good.
