Hi all.

I'm over 40 years old and have been suffering a lower back pain since I was 19-20 years old. I figured out when I was mid-30's what was causing the pain (it was a side effect of an anti depressant) and since then I stopped taking the anti-depressant, and the pain has not only stopped getting worse, but slightly improved. Obviously miffed about it, and the gradual increase in pain made it IMPOSSIBLE to have figured out the antidepressant (citalopram) was the cause. I took it religiously for years without it causing any bother, so...

Anyway I was on a mix of weaker pain killers for about a decade and at around 28-29 years old I had no choice but to switch over to the stronger drugs, started with Fentanyl patches, but they kept falling off, so I got it switched to MST, and really, what an amazing feeling it was. I'm not sure how many of you have shared this feeling, but it's like a "I know it should be hurting, but it's not". This was utter bliss, but as the years have gone by, I no longer think about it, other than I'm very grateful to have met a good doctor who cared enough to prescribe them in the first place.

After about a decade taking 300-500mg per day, I take a the greys, and do try to keep them as low as I can. But here's 1 thing that I've found, and I know some people might dismiss this off hand (i probably would have years ago) but i'm sure of this...

Most of the greys are what I'd guess to be 100mg in the literal sense, but every so often, i'll take one, and it's like not even half. This happens maybe once or twice per box. On the flip side of this, every so often i'll take one, and it's like DOUBLE.

None if this is any to do with full stomach or drink or anything else, so just wondering how this compares. I tried looking it up, and there's this blanket "no way, no how, it's all tightly controlled, very precise accuracy etc etc" but I know i'm not imagining this. Again, it's a rare thing, and there can be boxes where everything is spot on, but I'd guess its an average 1-2 per box. I can't say if the same box always has the tablet that's then stronger, but I'm inclined to say no.

I'd be really interested to hear from anyone else who's had experience with these, where you can literally feel the effects of having way less / way more, and so can tell - regardless what the experts and their rules and preicision verification nonsense says, which I guess should be a given, but clearly isnt.

your back pain story reminded me of a high school friend who suffered from migraine because of an antidepressant we was taking. he was lucky, though, the cause was discovered after "only" five or six years of suffering.

anyway, welcome to bluelight.
