Hello all,

I'm a 23 year old female with a rare genetic disorder called Familial Mediterranean Fever(FMF). Quick background: Never smoked a lot of marijuana, that wasn't really what I was into. I'd had health issues all my life but, I got really sick about 5 years ago and was diagnosed with FMF which is, basically and in the most nontechnical way, an auto-inflammatory disorder. My body is fighting with itself and there are only a couple of meds out there to treat my disorder and, even then, the meds sometimes don't help with the actual symptoms but stops me from getting Amyloidosis (a condition where your body produces too much Amyloid proteins and it starts to accumulate in your organs, shutting them down), which is always good but I needed real relief. I've been suffering for the last 5 years and tried everything, homeopathic and pharmacological, and they help sometimes but never very much.
My husband, who I've been with for over 7 years so he was there when I got really sick, was a HUGE stoner in high school though he didn't do it as much when we started dating at 17. He recommended the marijuana and my mother agreed with him because her dad has used marijuana when he had cancer and she saw first hand how marijuana can benefit us medically. Anyway, I decided to give it a try and it worked amazingly! I've NEVER had such complete relief from everything ever in my life from anything. The reason why I decided to join this forum is because I now have a bunch of questions on what might be causing the marijuana to help me so much. I also just want to stay current on strands, uses, and new research or stuff like that. I find it all very fascinating and pertinent to my situation. The people who comment on this forum give such intelligent and thoughtful answers and I knew this would be the place I could get some interesting ideas and info. Thanks!=D

Hi. Welcome to the site! I am new to this place myself. Though I can't say I use drugs for a physical disorder like yourself, I do get countless psychological benefits. Thank you for such a detailed introduction. I am always very happy to read about how different substances are changing peoples lives for the better.
