Stone cold and motionless
On the floor she lay
Her once deep, luminous eyes
Had turned a solemn grey
I never saw it coming
It pains me still today
An amazing, beautiful spirit
Crushed and blown away
Seemingly happy only hours before
Master of disguise
Inside she was screaming
I didn’t hear her cries
I thought her pain had healed
Clearly I was blind
Ignorant to her misery
I couldn’t prevent her demise
Her smile once lit up the room
Now it’s only mine to see
In my dreams and in my heart
She still lives on within me
