My neighbor, an elderly man in a suit, just rang my doorbell and complained of the smell that's been going on for the past three months. the thing is, i smoked it outside on the balcony! and i usually do. though the patio door was open this time (i've been getting careless lately) so i suppose some of it may have wafted into my apartment, under the front door, and into the hallway. and i hadn't extinguished the joint until i came in and it may have burned for a while. i'm just really anxious now because i hope he can't smell it if i at least go out on the balcony and close the patio door. if he can still smell it then, like maybe his window is also open so it goes in that way into his apartment, then i'm f*cked. my only other option is to use my handheld iolite vaporizer and i hate using that thing. i have to constantly be taking hits off it to achieve any sort of satisfying high. and it leaves a weird taste.

the apartment i live in is actually owned by my father and he knows i have a history of smoking weed. several years ago, he even decided that he was going to send me to inpatient rehab for it (he later reverted his decision). this would basically mean that i would have to cut off contact with him and go find my own place, a big change i would rather not face. bottom line is, how can i smoke joints without pissing off my neighbor? it is a 1 bedroom apartment, roughly 600-700 square feet on an upper floor (in the 20s) of a highrise building.

i realize there may not be a perfect solution. really i'm just venting, but any tips or input is welcome! 8(8o

Smoke bowls or bongs, and use a sploof.

^This.

Also smoke indoors and turn on a fan or spray some ozium, lysol, or febreeze.

I never had neighbors who complained about the smell but when I lived in an apt with a fan in the bathroom I'd just exhale the smoke into that, turn on the kitchen vent above the stove, and open a window.

why smoke indoors as opposed to out on the balcony?

These types of threads have been done a whole lotta times, and for that reason (along with this mostly reads like a blog post), I'm going to say use the search engine. Try searching sploof or vaporizer, or even smell, as these pop up every two weeks or so.
