Something I have been told for along time that I think is true is if things stay the same they won't change... don't keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different things to come from it....

Well im stuck in a rut for sure and I wonder if its just location, city/ town/ state....... anyway im wondering.... where else is there a good chance to get a job for someone unskilled... someone willing and happy to learn a new skill.. beside being able to waiter I really don't have any skills to speak of.... though I think I could be trained... anyway

What states have a lot of jobs for people like me.... seems here in CA everyone wants you to have been to collage at my age.... I didn't go that route at my younger ages Sucks for me... but I want to work I don't like where im at now the way things keep going.... I don't want to except things staying the same and wonder if changing my location might help

any ideas on states with good economies or lots of jobs? (if any do) or towns??

I know you can't run from problems... but I am just thinking ahead to my future and right here.... I dunno ... got a bad vibe.

Come to Australia, plenty of good paying jobs in the mining industry and in rural Australia, although everything is expensive to make up for the high wages.

I've never been there and I don't have any real details but North Dakota is in the middle of a shale oil boom. They have the lowest unemployment of any state in the union. It seems to me if you were looking for a place to go and do honest work that might be a place to look at.

Moving to another location to change your life in a positive way is *not* running from your problems. It is an attempt to find a proactive solution for them.

Good luck man.

Yeah :)
In Aus you can study and learn new skills & trades, without having any past university or college certificates to show.
Not too sure what it is like over in America in terms of studying and stuff.

Emigrating to another country when you do not have any real education and don't know any one there is not a realistic option for the vast majority of people.

in the CA bay area there are a lot of trades... construction electrician carpenter and if you go union they will teach you and you'll make really good money hell i'd do it if i wasn't in so much pain all the time

Agreed australia is the place to be for big money my uncle got a job driving trucks in the mines and is on 2 grand a week after tax

are felons allowed? if so
Hey mate!

It's going to depend on the felony, how long ago it happened, who handles your visa, etc. Australia's known for having tougher immigration/customs, unfortunately. I'd look into South America or Europe if you want to be able to travel freely with a criminal record. Or, if you're deadset on Australia, fly to Australia by way of Thailand or Hong Kong (lax customs) and then attempt to get into Aus., so that if you get turned away, you don't have to come all the way back to your starting point.

I am all for going to a new place to assist your recovery. Have you thought about doing volunteer work abroad? A lot of places will at least give you a place to stay and food to live on. I have a friend who went to Paupa New Guinea last year and she loved every bit of it.

Tell that to the millions of immigrants to the U.S. ;)

yes I have.... and I know it would help my recovery .... something wrong with the people in this town. .maybe its there water.. i dunno... bad customer service... :P

Do you have any friends in other states who you would like to be closer to? Or family for that matter? That always has made it easier for me to move as I would have a person to show me ropes in a new environment while still changing things up.
