So I recently started taking Percs again after being clean and sobor for 3 yrs. Yeah I really messed up. It's not bad yet but I can see it getting out of hand. The percs aren't doing the job anymore and I can't get my hands on things w/o the APAP. At my worst I was doing anywhere from 0-14 bags of H a day+smoking rocks...I was a homeless mess of a bum and I don't wanna go back to those dark times. I've been taking around 6 perc 10/650 per day for 3 weeks staright now and def show signs of getting sick each morning. I think I can get some Ultrams maybe to ween down but does anybody have any suggestions and No I can't get suboxine....thanx

Oh yeah...I can't go to detox and rehab unlees it's absolutely the only way

True...I just don't wanna get sick but I guess I have no choice. I imagine that the w/d won't be as bad as when I was on the H. Am i right on that?

Sorry to hear that. If tramadol works for you then you should have no problem weening off the percocets.

Tram works so well for me that I prefer it over hydro/oxy, though I have been on oxycocone 10/325 for the past 6 weeks due to a herniated disc and it appears I will be on it for several more months.

Like you the oxy doesn't get me euphoric any longer, but it does deal with the pain. I will take several days break between taking percocets ( 8-10 a day ) and use the tramadol. Get NO wd's from the percocet when I do this.

^ that's because tramadol is an opioid.

op- if you can use the ultram responsibly- as in just to get through the worst of your withdrawals, then you should do so. however, keep in mind that it is an opioid and you may still experience some mild withdrawals when you stop taking the ultram as well. if you find you are just swapping your oxycodone habit for a ultram habit then you should seek other methods of help. withdrawing from an opioid AND an SNRI can be devastating. i wouldn't use it for more than 5-7 days, 10 at the absolute most.

good luck to you & i'm happy that you recognized that you needed to stop before it got too bad. you're already ahead of a lot of people, including myself :)

You have been down that road before and knowing where it takes you should be enough initiative as it is. Is there a reason suboxone is not an option? Clinics are everywhere and IMO it's a godsend. If you really want to be clean, you will have to make the effort yourself, only you can change the situation.

it's not thatn I won't take suboxone it's just that I don't think I can get any. We're talkin about 3 weeks of percs here. Enough for users to understand but a doctor won't...and I don't live near Camden anymore so it's not like I can just go take a walk looking for them
