Here's the deal guys. I have been taking Tramadol, around 300 -350 milligrams a day for close to a year now for severe depression symptoms. It works wonders for me. I also have been taking about 2 milligrams of clonazepam as a nighttime sedative or a sedative when I go out. The problem is that I get these by special means. Unfortuantely, all I can get my hands on is enough tramadol for 200 milligram a day and 0.75 miligram of clonazepam a day, this is not adequate.

My question is does anybody know how easy it would be to get a tramadol prescription from a doctor? I'm assuming because it's a non-controlled drug it isn't that difficult, as most people who go in and complain about pain are seeking tabs or oxycodone. I know the clonazepam would be a different story being a schedule IV drug.

I need these medicines to function properly, I am practically insane when my symptoms are unchecked. I need to some advice on how to get legitimate prescriptions from doctors on these drugs. I'm afraid if I tell them I need the tramadol for depression they will look at me like I'm crazy and prescribe something that I've tried and has no effect, like zoloft or prozac. So I was thinking of feigning back pain or something along those lines.

All advice is appreciated. Thanks.

That's true about the Tramadol
You still shouldn't be light about it even if it is a shit painkiller
as for the clonazepam I really can't exactly remember, I do remember not asking for it directly
I was just talking about being depressed and having social phobia
I don't understand exactly, you take 2 mg when you go outside or when you go to bed? Do you ever end taking 4 mg a day?
you probably shouldn't tell that to a doctor, the maximum dose for a normal person a day is 3

You say you have a social phobia and that causes you to leave the house less frequently than you need, that would sound pretty legit to most doctors

Again be careful about displaying drug-seeking behaviour, maybe avoid mentioning getting the pills without needed presp.

The odds of going in to a regular doctor and coming out with 200mg of tramadol a day seem pretty slim due to all the different options they have for pain. If they do prescribe it they are unlikely to do so for long term use.

I suggest seeing a psychiatrist and going that route. Since tramadol has SNRI activity you should look into SNRI medications. I know you said you tried zoloft and prozac and they didn't work but they are SSRI's so you haven't explored your options in the SNRI class.

Just be honest with your doctor. We can't tell you what to say to get what you want, but if you are honest you will eventually get something that works for you. You might get something that works better than the tramadol / clonazepam combo, or maybe you will end up on that combo after trial and error with other meds.

See, the thing is, you don't need to fake illnesses when you have legitimate problems. What you need is specific, documented diagnoses given by specialized healthcare providers, as Tommy said.

It's great that you've found a few things that work for you, but there may well be other things that could be more helpful to you, and you should be trialed on them. Try to keep an open mind. This is your life after all.

To be honest, I've never had to doctor shop or tell them shit that wasn't true. If you're fucked up enough they will help you.

Good luck!
