Im 21 and have been using opiates for 3-4 years daily and and before that probably 3 years of off and on use. I use whatever i can get my hands on. At the moment I have 10mg vicodins that I take 3 every 2 and half to 3 hours for a total of 12 or sometimes more a day. Other times its the same ammount with the 10mg percs with a 40mg oxy op. But my favorite is 20mg of methadone then i usually dose 5mg more after about 6 hours.

When I get low on my pills I resort to snorting these pills with apap which I know is ridiclous but its better than being dope sick. I have even taken the next step to smoking H when low on drugs and funds.

I would love to get clean. Since ive been dosing every 3 hours, about 30mins before the 3 hour mark I go into withdrawls. And this is also happening at work which i work 10 hour days.

I dont know what to do, I have 3 8mg subs but I have never used them before because of fear of perciptated withdrawls. And theres a high chance that I will love getting high off them.

I am in high fear of losing my job I dont have much of any sick hours to take time off. Does anyone have any advice about going through withdrawls and or a taper plan that could work while im at work. thanks

If you're going into WD three hours after your last hydrocodone dosage, I don't think you need to worry about precip. withdrawals. Just wait 12 hours after your last hydrocodone dosage and take the Suboxone and you'll feel a lot better.

You won't need the whole 8mg pill the first time you use it, that's for sure. I was on a habit similar to yours (I'm on Suboxone right now) and I went into withdrawals and then snorted ~1mg of Suboxone and felt a thousand times better. It works, yes, you can get high off it but you'll get less high off buprenorphine than you would with another replacement drug such as methadone.

I know it's large and seems like a lot to digest but I really recommend reading through (or at least skimming through) the Suboxone/Buprenorphine Mega Thread and FAQ v12.0. It has all the background information on buprenorphine and contains other people's experiences with it, etc. It really can help you and make your life better. If you want to quit using opiates or get your usage under control, then Suboxone can really help you. Check out the megathread, it speaks volumes more than I could.

I completely understand this fear. I had to quit my job because of panic attacks (mainly due to panic attacks that were caused by amphetamine and opiate usage, it was one the reasons I checked into buprenorphine, actually).

However, you really only need a day or so to make the switch to Subs. You can take them at work just like you take your other opiates at work. Buprenorphine is much longer-acting than hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc, which makes things easier. However, it is not as long-acting as methadone.

Hope this gets you started off on the right foot. You can do it man, and Bluelight is a great community to help you out.

Yeh honestly when it comes down to it you're already doing a lot of drugs/opies. And dealing with random and unpredictable wds is what actually messes with addicts lives the most imo. I mean the getting high part obviously does too but its the wds that makes us lose jobs, makes family sketchy, and makes us go broke as fuck trying to score w/e expensive ass drugs are available, that a lot of times don't even work well due to how quick they wear off.

Don't be afraid of sub. Be afraid of PWDs. They are 2 different things lol. I know it sounds stupidly obvious but I avoided sub myself for years just due to that reason. The first time I ever took it I was a nervous wreck, but since then I learned all you need is a handful of tramadol, stash them, and anytime you switch to bupe maintain on the tram for 24 hours as it doesn't interact with bupe. Tram makes for very smooth transitions imo.

Regardless though you are still young, and at that age *I* was not ready to even think about quitting any types of drugs. If you feel like you are though, bupe maintenance is your friend. But theres no point chasing highs with any other opiate as bupe will water down the effect of most of them pretty strongly. Still people do it obviously.

But like NT said bupe DOES help a lot of addicts stablize their lives. I could explain to you why, but it makes a huge difference to see for your own eyes why. I use to take bupe months ago off the streets when I'd run out, but today I went to a sub dr to go on legimately. And in one day I already feel like a massive ape as been lifted off my back. Sub is also the only opiate I've managed to actually taper off of completely, not saying that will be everyones experience but its just a stable and effective drugs.

It depends on where you live but my entire visit and week 1 cost of pills was $60 for the visit, then $48 for a week supply. Thats in Brooklyn though I'd assume they are the cheapest place that does suboxone. In central Jersey where I live its much more expensive as I was getting quotes yesterday. It wouldn't hurt to do some browsing though. Along with what NT linked you can go to NAABT.com, the national alliance for bupe treatment. Thats how I found my drs and it was super easy.

You don't have to do it. But its something to definitely keep in mind for when you've had enough of chasing, going broke, wds at work, wds at home, wds during sleep etc. When you reach the point where you've had enough, suboxone is your friend lol. I was in horrific wds today, blood pressure was 230/140, sweating bullets, shaking, diarheaa, stomach turning,,, got 1mg of bupe in my blood and wow, it did the job. Although I always plug my bupe.

You have 3 - 8mg bupe. Multiply and you get 24mg. If you cut each strip into 1mg, and plug them, you'll be getting the same amount in your blood as 4mg sublingual. In your situation, I would not take those bupe under your tounge. Find a syringe/eye dropped, mix 1mg with a bit of water, lube syringe with mineral oil, and shove up your ass. You can make that bupe you have right now last 24 days likely, while feeling stable for basically the whole time. And you can even taper it if you want to make it last longer.

Just some food for thought, good luck!!

Hey man, good luck - I'm in the same boat but with H, smoking over a gram a day, using at work, WD's at work, time off, fear of being sacked etc, I've tapered down to about .4 a day and did 24 hours with nothing leading up to last night, today I woke up sick, not gone to work and scored instead and already smoked .8 and have another gram left, going to use that g between now and Friday then jump off CT, if I can't handle it this time (I was clean for over a year before this) then I'm off to the doctor for some sub. It can be done, WD's are not as bad as we fear, it's a few days of bad symptoms followed by the mental challenge of keeping clean, but in return you/I get our lives back! Just wanted to wish you luck...

Bojangles69 has some of the most sound advice.

Except for the plugging the bupe part hehe...

The clinic in my area wont let you plug your bupe for shit, they wanna watch you dissolve it, so you would have to subvert it first...
Anyway i digress

get on the bupe bro, your gonna need a high ass dose.

If you can somehow (miraculously) go 24 hours without ANY dose, then go on the bupe, that will really kick your recovery into gear.

I know 24 hours sounds like a joke right? if you told me go 24 hours without gear i would of laughed back in the day, but yeah it makes a huge huge difference.

Bupe gets you fucked as well for the first couple of days, so its a bonus. That soon wears off though.

Eitherway your gonna feel like shit for the next 3-4 months. Sorry, but lets not beat around the bush. Better than having WD's every day for the rest of your life though.

Good luck brother, stay strong & occupied!!

bupe actually helps? i thought it just made you really sober... i might have too check into that..

/\ lmao !! I guess coming down from a "real" habit it may make you feel more sober, but "sober" for a lot of opiate users means wds. Which is why I'm technically never sober.

Thank you for all of your replys I really do appericate it.

I have no problem with plugging, although I have the pills not the strips.

This is so true. I'm so used to being doped up that I don't like living when im sober. I know alot of that is the WDs but even when they end I know Im going to have monster cravings. It will be a day to day battle.

In the future(This is not one of those things where i say "ok tomorrow", "ok the next day" and so on and so on) hopefully within under 2 weeks im going to try to request a day off before or after my days off to have a full 3 days to make the switch. If 1mg does it which im honestly a little skeptical about then I should have 24 doses as u guys said. If it goes good for a week or 2 then I will get to a doctor and get a script for them.

I am quite serious about this and I cant wait to be opiate free.

Once again thanks for all the help, and if anyone has anymore advice about bupe/ and or other things to help fight the withdrawls I'd greatly appericate it.

Hey All,

I'm on day 4 of withdrawal and I already feel great! Here's what I diddid (fuck the dosages, take what you need) :
Benadryl
Immodium generic (buy 4 bottles of it. .. I used it all)
Potassium (must have)
Multi-vitamin

You've got to sleep through days 1 and 2. Benadryl helps, but if you can't sleep due to rls, take xanax. You can take tylenol or ibuprofen for the achiness. You'll feel better by day three ;-) I don't know what med/vitamin it was, but I have no cravings!

I'm not a doc, but a long time, heavy addict (15-20) snorted oxy every day. I've been through more DT's than I can count, but this one was super easy. Email me if I can help! Good luck, friend!

Good luck OP. I would say you can PM me for support, but I am still at greenlighter status.

I'm interested in that. How do you know the panic attacks are actually caused by your drug use. I know tons of people who suffer from panic attacks and never laid hand on a drug before, not even Advil.

cold turkey works really well . free and effective. the recovery industry is a racket that preys on the weak and desperate. in the final analysis junkies will themselves into and out of addiction.

I have a huge opiate dependency . . . I take 20 percocet a day along with a ton of Tylenol 3 I was also taking about 20-30 mg of dilaudid everyday. My saving grace when I wanted to get clean was clonidine . . It works amazing! I stock up on clonidine and immodium pills and I'm good to go! It's what I do when I want to quiet opiates basically pain free.

Good luck!
