Recently I've been dealing with virtually no motivation or energy to do anything. I used to be prescribed adderall/vyvanse so ive had some old pills laying around, but they are now pretty much gone. Even though the medication solved all my problems, I just couldn't picture taking it every day for the rest of my life. I told this to my doctor that I made the decision to stop, since I didn't want to be constantly running speed through my body on a 24/7 loop(no offense to those who do).
Now I'm trying to find a job and it's taking me a lot longer than expected. My lack of motivation/energy is certainly not helping. I know the best answer may be to get some mental help solving each problem at a time, without resorting to drugs. But this is kind of how I've been all my life. I think it's just some levels in my body are off kilter and add meds put me in the right place. I'm also clinically diagnosed as being very ADD. For whatever that's worth. So I think the door is open to get more meds from the doc if I wanted.
However, I have a couple problems: I'm currently living with parents(go to same doc as my mom), Im broke, and because I'm basically in college(or just finished) I'm still on an insurance plan through parents work or whatever.
The reason this causes problems is because if I filled my medication, I would have to keep it a complete secret, as silly and almost impossible as that seems. I would just take it on the days when I'm mostly alone at home and have a lot of work to do. The other reason I have to keep it secret is because a sibling(that started on add meds), started doing meth and is just now out of rehab.
So my parents attitude towards the medicine has changed from the days when I was taking it. And if they know, there's a better chance that my sibling finds out, which is also a problem for several reasons. If trying to get another script filled is the answer, How do I go about this? I need to pay for everything myself?(which would probably be impossible atm). Or just utilize the insurance and be vague when I tell them why I'm seeing the doctor? I'm not an expert on how everything works, is there a point where they would find out which medication I filled? I can fib about what I filled if they are going to at some point be able to see a copay and deductible for my visit/meds. The whole idea is a bust if they can see WHAT particular medication the deductibles were used on. Anyone know? (I live in the U.S & I believe the provider is Anthem-BlueCrossBlueSHield)
