Need help identifying results with Marquis test

I purchased a NIK Polytesting System Marquis Reagent test for MDMA and this is my first time testing a substance that I thought was MDMA. Once the glass inside the pouch was broken, the substance turned from yellow to very dark brown over the course of a few seconds. I'm hoping I got the right test between bk-MDMA and MDMA. Is this methylone?

Reaction (bubbling):

Edit: Here is a picture of the test sitting after about 10 minutes. Has a bit of a green look to it now. I should also mention this was white powder taken out of a capsule.

Marquis Reagent: MDPV, Methylone, Butylone - Yellow

and the result looks black to me but I never used pouch so I wouldn't know.

by the way if its cut with Methylone (Yellow) and MDMA (Purple) together the color comes out brown. I hope this helps.

If you didn't see any dark blue/purple turning to black, it might not be MDMA. Also, most reaction color charts show the colors after far less than 10 minutes, so I wouldn't rely on a color comparison after that long a period of time. 20-60 sec is the norm.

looks like DXM honestly. How long did the reaction take?

The turn to brown was immediate, like 5 seconds or so.

There wasn't really any tint of blue or purple so I guess that must mean there was a lack of MDMA. Thanks for the replies guys I really appreciate it! I think I may get another test kit, one that's more simpler to use haha.

^^Nope Meth+MDMA reacts with yellow then orange often bubbling in the first 1second then rappidly goes a reddish, maroon dark purple. I often find I have to retest a couple of times to see the initial yellow to orange or otherise it can easily be mistaken for any other dark purple MDxx reaction.

Also unlikely it's DXM. I reagent tested GC-MS verified DXM. It took about 12seconds to develop then just went black. No grey, yellow, purple or any other colours.

I've looked through my reactions that I've recorded and I can't find anything obvious from that reaction. It could possibly be a yellow (such as Methylone, Butylone, MDPV) that has gone brown if maybe you added way too much powder but this is a big maybe. Bottom like is get yourself a decent range of test kit reagents from either Ecstasy Pill Test or DanceSafe or RealTimeReagents Ebay Listings (here's RealTimeReagents e-mail address [email protected]). Next try using my colour chart. If you find it useful print if out and keep it with your kit. As far as I've read from a few resources methamphetamine is the usually by far the most common form of speed in Australia and North America not amphetamine. I've heard it comes down to usually simpler synth routes and the cheapest best bang for buck for the chemist making it. Also I've reagent tested pharmaceutical prescription amphetamine pills and the reaction is quite obvious to Robadope. Using a fairly large scraping from a 5mg dexamphetamine pill there was a slow pink reaction.

Here are some examples of pills I've tested which should help to give an idea of the reaction to pills containing methamphtamine + MDxx. Look at Marquis. It is usually only obvious in the first split second or so before the reaction goes purple for the MDxx. The initial reaction often goes yellow/orange to orange brownish even slighty red before going all dark purple black. I often have to test a couple of times with a good sized scraping to see it. This reaction seems to be consistent among quite a number of different pills I've tested over the years. The effects of these pills is also a dead give away and what first alerted me to re-test and discover this reaction. There is a jittery, stimulated, alert and awake feeling that often lasts well after the MDxx has worn off. I've reagent tested a number of pills that I believe to contain only MDxx (even one included that was GC-MS tested to contain only MDMA) and when there is no speed in there the reaction to Marquis starts at a dark purple blackish but never yellow, orange, brown or red. Also once the MDxx wears off I usually feel sleepy.
