I have gotten accepted into a mental heath facility for severe anxiety and panic attacks I have had for several years. My primary doctor has has me on 2 mg of xanax a day for about 2 years, it became less effective so he referred me to a psychiatrist. I had my in take today, did in form them that I have Insomnia, severe Anxiety and Panic Attacks also that I have impulsive behaviors. I truly do believe need a higher dose of xanax, a sleep aid such as ambien or lunesta, as well as some adderall or ritalin to control my impulsive behaviors, what should I do to make sure I get all of the medications I need? thank you, i really need them.

Not here to help you score drugs.

Be honest, the truth will set you free. I get klonopin and valium. When my panic attacks were bad I was on klonopin and xanax. Most psychiatrists won't rx an amp for a panic disorder patient as they cause anxiety and panic attacks. If you go in there asking for all those Meds you will appear to be a drug seeker. Be honest with your dr and hopefully you will get the help you need. You're already on the right track.

Remember coming off of benzos is a bitch.

as it stands if you told them what you just told us you'd likely walk out with at least some of those meds.

i've noticed that when me or someone else tells the doctor a drug they've tried , when they're already diagnosed with something, the doctor seems much more lenient towards offering it. (ex my doctor knew i had anxiety, i told him i'd tried ativan and it worked wonders. he set me up on valium which sucked so he bumped me to ativan the next week)

mind you what i said is not solid advice. obviously, beforehand, have a lengthy discussion about your symptoms and what you feel is wrong.
