Yo whats up im new to this websites forums ,making this my first post and my apologies if I posted incorrectly. Im looking for advice on how to manage my health properly with and w/o meds. Im 20years old ,5'10 and weigh 165lb. I developed scoliosis about 5 years ago in my upper and lower back with a 15° curve, a chest cavity over my sternum (pidgeon chest) , all my ribs are divergent, my right side of pelvis is elevated due to breaking a leg, I have severe anxiety/ptsd as well as ADD which got increasingly worse from use of ecstasy back in 2011' and heavy meth use from early 2012 to mid 2013(smoking mainly, snorting, and a short period of IVing).

Why I was developed like this idk forsure, but im guessing it was my mothers heroin addiction from slamming for ten years and or my fathers coke use which hes been using for about 30years now,but it wasnt a heavy drug problem or anything ,just an occasional thing. Ive been on numerous medications prescribed (benzos, light opiates,subs,adderal/concerta,MR's,zoloft,trams,all kinds of other little bullshit),ended up doin everything from weed to meth to black.Pretty much everything except crack and psychadelics.

So my issue is what the fuck do I do to get my life back , im a very talented devoted artist/lyricist but i lost myself caught up in the street life ,drama and drugs. I need to know what meds/exercise I should be utilizing and how to properly explain to my doctors about my various dissabilities.Honeslty I have better motor skills, thoughts and ideas/choices when I take the correct amount of medication to ease my body pain and anxiety/depressiion. If anyone can relate to all this pile of shit or overcame it ,PLEASE provide some input id honestly appreciate it!

Hi abusive 187 welcome to bluelight. I would like to suggest meditation for your anxiety as this really helps. I'm not sure how bad your leg is as I would like to suggest eliptical for cardio exercise, however, it is best to speak with your gp for the type of exercises you can do with your current condition. Yoga is another thing I have in mind and also pilates but there are forms that might require you to stretch a part of your body that might be too painful so you can always skip these parts.

My question is, do you go to chiropractor treatments? I have read that this may alleviate or help with scoliosis so perhaps you can also mention this to your gp and check if you can go for appointments and how often you can go etc.

Hey <3

What did you do before your health issues?

hey thanks for the reply. Im pretty sure a lil weed smoking, but im curious about this, my pops owns an autobody shop and been goin there since a child and started working there 2009. And we get alot of business so theres alot of chemicals that cause birth defects which gets inhaled all day and my dad rarely ever uses masks and been in business over 30 years, possibly that messed up my genes as well as my parents drug use?

Hey thanks yo,currently im on valium and been on benzos plus zoloft(no longer use this) ,but yesterday my doc gave me a script for venlafaxine hcl ER,generic effexor,i tried it and it seems to work pretty well for me but i was also on suboxone so today ima take just the effexor to see the result alone. do you know anything about it,like is it a decent substitute rather than worse meds? I.E. benzos, they make me productive/happy n reckless sometimes and quick to abuse them for the high, not exactely what Im aiming for. yeah I did physical therapy for about 12 weeks then stopped and i was taught basic stretches to lengthen my spine n back as well as meditation and other exercises.as far as my leg its fine, except it messes with my posture because one shoulders more elevated plus I cant breathe too deep because my lungs feel they press up against my chest cavity which hurts so im constantly holdin breath w/o knowing :/ im working on it tho. i think i need to focus on getting my body and muscles lean and stretched again because my back is EXTREMELY tense all day putting me ina bad mood,u can litteraly feel ridges of tense muscles all over up to my neck. so today ima start slow and start a workout routine again.

And no I rather not go to a chiro, I prefer physical strength and all I do is purely jailwork outs n pull ups.hey thanks for your advice tho man i really appreciate ur time. oh one other thing , im also taking 50mg tramadol tabs and 300mg neurontin,do u have a clue based on my info of a proper dose i should be taking? because i dont believe my doc is really understand my level of pain. 1 50mg tram every 6hrs(I take 2-3) bout twice a day, 1 300mg neurontin in the morning and 2 at bedtime( I take 2,1,2 through out the day),half a 8mg suboxone film twice a day, and 60mg adderal a day

Swimming is really good exercise and low impact on your bones and joints.
yes definitely! we have a large sized built in swimming pool about 30 feet across and 10 feet wide ,3ft-9ft deep ,but the pools murky green and we constantly have to clean it bekuz of the neighbors lame ass leaf pollutiing tree and its really expensive to clean. on top of that i havnt swam in that pool since i was like 16 lol. but I probly will start working on a swim routine along with working out. its also much more effective for strengthing my back right? and entire body

That's sounds fairly tame as far as the pain regimen. Is it working? If it's not then tell your doctor.

Depends on what you're comparing it too. But yeah it's a good all around full body exercise. Lifting weights is also of course a good way to get strong, but I'm a little hesitant to suggest that without knowing the full extent of your problems. If nothing else start out light and pay really close attention to your form. A personal trainer would probably be a good idea for a few sessions if it was something you were interested in because they have a better understanding of people with injuries or health problems.

assuming you recently started pain management those doses are fine. you can easily get the tramadol increased to 100 milligrams twice a day, gradually up to a maximum of 200 milligrams twice a day. in my decade long experience with tramadol i would recommend that you go for the extended release tramadol because it takes some time for tramadol to be converted into its more potent metabolite, so it's best to keep the liver occupied with as much as it can handle at a time. extended release tablets allow for this. plus the tramadol becomes active for 16-24 hours as opposed to 6.

personally, i've found the most drug to dramatically increase the analgesia of tramadol is carisoprodol (soma).

the gabapentin (neurontin) will probably, and usually goes up to high doses. what you have is a typical initial dose. the doses for pain can go up to 3,600 milligrams a day.

what's important is you titrate up as slow as possible, and use the lowest possible dose that helps you have a manageable lifestyle. you don't want to reach the point where your back is to the wall because you've hit the maximum dosage for each drug. also keep in mind that these medications carry a risk of dependence, addiction, and withdrawal (including the gabapentin).
