Bupe Need an answer fast

Thank you. I appreciate the educated responses. He thought he has a high tolerence to other drugs. But is drug free he took suboxone for pain. He can wake up speak his blood pressure is ok. Just tired and sick he tried to get to work but had to come back home. Im hopin this is the worst of it I wish there was something that would make it faster. Hopin in the 24 hrs hel b good. Iv been on suboxone and his friend gave it to him and he thought if i could take it he could I dunno wtf is wrong with both of them im stingy with my meds cuz i have to track them with my doc i gues others arent

Just so you know, having a "high tolerance to other drugs" means absolutely nothing. Unless he's a regular/frequent opiate user , then he has absolutely ZERO tolerance to opiates. You didn't mention what other drugs he does, but for example, if he can take a lot of xanax, or benzodiazepines, that doesn't mean he can take as much opiates as he wants.

This is a very real problem that I see way too frequently in real life, people think "Oh I have a high tolerance to drugs, I regularly take high doses of ______ (insert any drug here, for example, xanax), that means I'll be totally fine to smoke as much heroin as I want". These are the people that end up OD and Narcan'd if they are lucky.

There is no such thing as a "high tolerance to drugs".

"I have a high tolerance to drugs" <-- famous last words. You are very lucky that the drug he took was 2mg Suboxone, if it was something else, it could have been lethal.

I agree. Keep your eye on him and talk to him. Tell him to take it down a notch. If he don't have a serious opiate problem (or any drug) now...he's lucky.

Thank you again. An update for anyone ever in this unfortunate situation. He apparently dosed at 7 pm. Slept felt dizzy ha trouble walking. But he was coherent able to answer questions. By the morning he was the same. Except he started vomiting slept until 5 pm. And is alot better still dizzy and tired but definitly better. Im on suboxone after being addicted to wvery opiate except heroin. When his friend offered it to him he felt like if i could tolerate he could and also said he always had a high tolerence to every drug hes ever tried. To answer other ? He does not do any other drugs except weed No benzos or anything he thought this would help his pain. If he wasnt able to speak or walk at all an wasnt able to wake up i probly wuldv taken him to er. Like i said also his vitals were good. I will give him a few kicks in the ass but ill wait til tommorw. He should no better after wat he has seen me go thru. He said how do u take this and feel normal. And i said cuz my brain is efffed up. Thank you again bluelight. Hopefully this post will help someone before they do something stupid

Yeah I'm sure it will help! I'm very glad that everything worked out okay. He's very lucky he had you around.

Buprenorphine is an extremely potent opioid, you have been on it for maintenance, I hope he learned his lesson, just because you can tolerate the buprenorphine, it's because you have a tolerance.
