Hello all, this is my very first posting on not just this forum, but any kind of similar sight. So please excuse my mistakes in protocal or anything else, this is entirely new to me.

Now straight to what brings me here. I injected twice into 2 spots along the outside of my wrist and near the back of my thumb. These were spots that I had both used a few times before with no prior problems. I started (using short 31g syringes) at the first higher spot, registerted, but clearly was missing as the spot slightly bubbled. Not wanting to waste what I had left (and here's where I made my mistake I'm sure) I went to the lower spot right under the left inside of my wrist. Now with this spot I had always had hit or miss luck. it would either register great or not concede a drop. because there was already blood in the syringe it made it hard to tell how much more I registered but when I plunged it felt ok and no skin bubbles or swelling. By now i was tourniquet free and the swelling from my first miss had already gone down and I thoroughly disinfected and cleaned up as always. There was no pain at this point but I really wasn't feeling much of the "H" (very fine light brown type that requires no heat to mix)

SO....I went to bed that night feeling ok but woke up the next day with what felt like a badly sprained wrist. There is only a little bit of swelling and barely any discoloration and no streaking.
Its gotten neither any worse or better in 4 days and I'm very reluctant to go to the doctor as I am definetly not a frequent user and don't want this piece of stupidity on some part of my medical file.
I'm sure some will say I should have gone to the ER immediately, but I'm wondering if anyone has "toughed out" a similiar situation on their own and if so could share some tips and tell how long the pain lasted for or even what you ended up doing to fix it.

Again, being a newbie I APOLOGIZE sincerely for saying anything I maybe shouldn't have said, and if this post belongs in another forum on here I'm sorry for that too. Just looking for a kindred spirit who might be able to help my dumb a==
thank you very much for taking the time to read this,

I haven't been in that situation, but the risk involved in shooting with a spot you may or may not have missed. Nobody here is in a position to provide you with formal medical advice. The risk of you having possibly placed yourself in a position of unsafe shooting is more of a concern than an embarrassment to your medical file, in my lay opinion. It is possible that you shot wrongly, waited four days to sort out the matter, warrants a trip to the ER to rule out infection.

I hope that you will take care of yourself.

there is indeed a thread in this very forum from someone who "toughed out" a similar situation. it's about how he deals with life now that he is missing most of his hand. probably not the answer you want to hear.

You need to go to the ER IMMEDIATELY. I can't stress enough how important it is that you seek medical attention for this right away. This will not heal on it's own and you really shouldn't be wasting valuable time asking people on the Internet that aren't licensed and practicing physicians.

In would at least hit up a walk in the box doctor and see what they say. I know just getting a consultation can be affordable if you dont wanna use your insurance.

This happened to my friend; I'm not sure if it's what your problem is or not, but it could be.

My friend accidentally injected into the joint of their wrist, and it became infected. They needed medical assistance.

If your sore wrist hasn't gotten any better over the course of four days, it's time to go to get medical assistance.

Listen to the advice given, you don't want to end up with sepsis or losing a limb. Swallow your pride and get medical attention now.
Don't wait until it's too late. Don't worry about being judged, your life could be on the line.

(This would probably do better in BDD or OD)

It doesn't sound like anything life-threatening, possibly just a miss but...I think some people in BDD could give you really good advice and might be able to avoid you a trip to the ER.

Misses can cause life threatening infections. Moving to BDD. If the symptoms persist or worsen today, OP should definitely seek medical attention.

Moved: TDS --> BDD
