I just thought that i would warn all IVDUs about necrotising fasciitis. I was with a partner and we used some heroin but we only had one clean syringe. Sadly i let my partner use the clean one and i grabbed a dirty one out of the glovebox. I literally couldnt wait 5 minutes to get new syringes.. lol
Anyway i didn't even really bother to rinse the used syringe out and had my shot. After about 2 days i saw a rash over my body and it got worse, someone took me to the hospital and i collapsed in the ED. I vaguely remember the nurse taking my BP it was 62/30 that was the last i remembered. I had huge chunks of skin cut off and was lucky to survive. After 3 weeks in intensive care and another 3 weeks of skin grafts i was sent home.
I have also had cellulitis a few time, (not sure if related to IVDU).. Just warning everyone to be careful and never reuse syringes!
