Nead Help Gettingof dope!!!!!!!!!!

there's a lot of really good advice in this thread, like Captain.Heroin's and OverDone's, if I were you I would have your wife go to a suboxone doctor(find one by going to http://www.suboxone.com/patients/here_to_help/find_a_doctor.aspx and entering your zip code.)

the doctor will probably write her a script for 12mg or 16mg per day, and that will be more than enough for you guys to split 2 ways and maintain the script for as long as you need.

suboxone is an opioid, though it won't get you high like banging dope will, but it will keep you out of withdrawal and prevent you from wasting your time/money/marriage/life on getting heroin. to get on suboxone you must wait ~16 hours after your last dose of heroin(your body must already be in withdrawal symptoms or taking the suboxone will tear the remaining opioid molecules off of the receptors in your brain and you will be thrown into precipitated withdrawal, as suboxone has a much higher affinity than heroin/oxy/etc. does,) so save the benzos for this 16-24 hour period(depending on how long it takes you personally to start experiencing major withdrawal symptoms,) and the transition from H to suboxone will be easy.

really dude, please look into this, it's one of your best options for getting off dope or just getting clean - it's not like methadone, you don't have to go to a clinic every day, and you won't be on it for the rest of your life - it will be a million times better than just using benzos to try and skate your way through a home detox, because even if you managed to do that and got past the physical withdrawals, how are you going to deal with the massive psychological symptoms that come after that, post-acute withdrawal syndrome is the hardest part in my experience and suboxone is a godsend when it comes to that shit.

here's how i did it

I just finished a home kick myself off a 4+ year poppy/heroin habit. I'm feeling better every day, it's day 7 now so the only remaining WD symptoms is sneezing fits, which is actually pretty entertaining. j/k. Here's my plan:

Either have an awesome doctor who is a loving angel who will give you plenty of clonidine and valium or soma (lol) or order these meds off the internet. should set you back about $300, and take probably three weeks to arrive. Based on the delivery time they estimate (and do your homework on your online sources, there are great and terrible online pharmacies), schedule your d-day (dope-free). Give yourself about two weeks of gradually tapering down. I've tapered off before and I found that extending the time between your doses is just as, if not more important than, reducing the amount of dope. That could just be me tho. I agree sort of about the possibility of suboxone use others advocated, but I find personally I'd rather switch to the shortest-lasting opiate during the taper as it will reduce the duration of the most intense WD effects. So now, you've got a date set and you've got your specialized tools. Next, you'll need your basic tools. Go out and get stuff to make smoothies, stock up on Gatorade (CRUCIAL), make a huge batch of a hearty but brothy soup, get maybe a good multivitamin and definitiely a bottle of OTC sleeping pills (diphenhydramine), as well as plenty of loperamide. You won't want to eat but you will be thirsty. I never liked orange juice until 4 days ago and now i'm sucking down gallons. I also ate about a pound of gummi fruit snacks and sour belt candies without realizing it while kicking. So get yourself a treat too. Your body will need the energy and nutrients to start to rebuild your receptors and shit.
Now, your set and setting. You're living with two other users? Then you CANNOT do this at home. if they shoot you will too. you've got $10k in the bank? then get 10 days at a hotel with a jacuzzi, and if possible hire a nurse or someone off craigslist to periodically check on you for the duration. Make sure the wifi is good and your netflix streaming will come through - you'll want to have on some mindless but entertaining crap. i found futurama was perfect cuz i know all the episodes but still enjoy them so i can slip in and out of sleep with them playing but i wasn't focusing on how i was feeling.

So now you're all set with everything you need to start the kick. On the morning after your last dose take your clonidine (hopefully AS PRESCRIBED or very very carefully calculated) and pop some valium and benadryl. lie in bed and zonk out. continue to take the pills as indicated for clonidine and as needed for valium (i hate benzos so i wasn't worried about them becoming a problem for me, but don't just switch habits, benzo withdrawal can kill you). i used the valium almost exclusively to get to sleep and not during the day, but whatever suits you works. i basically faded in and out of consciousness for the first three days, and since I'm in a healthy relationship with a non-user (thank god) she brought me drinks and pills and stuff and kept me alive. DON'T SKIMP ON HIRING SOMEONE TO CHECK ON YOU, i accidentally took too much clonidine and went blue in the lips, and having someone there to check the internet saved us a hospital trip, since all we could do was wait it out anyway. also i tried to take myself to the bathroom and fell down and broke a bunch of shit. As soon as you can get out of bed, treat the muscle aches in the jacuzzi (or stay in it as long as you like, just stay hydrated) and STRETCH. i am only now not light-headed enough for good exercise but just stretching out good and hard gave me good periods of relief. by day four you could likely go without clonidine but it's best to taper that down too, just do 3-4 days of taking 25-35% less so there's no rebound effect, which is practically WD all over again. On day 5 the pity party ends and you have to start leaving the room for walks and stuff. Now, notice I said book 10 days? Well you're going to then have 4-5 days of dopeless clarity and solitude wherein you should decide what to do about your wife and roomie. I suggest distance first, then charity. Be like Sick Boy to Renton - show them it's not hard and try to donate the rest of the transition meds for their own kicks, if that's their goal. If not, you gotta cut em out or remove yourself. Luckily for me my dope use has always been super private and secret so I have no friends/places tempting me to use around here.

Last thing I found really helpful - i went to a bar tonight and struck up a conversation with a complete stranger about how I was just barely off dope. And they were fascinated and intrigued and compassionate. I can't say that will happen for everyone, but sharing where your head is at in this period is crucial to determining why you were using in the first place and what you need to do to stay clean. Best of luck to you man, feel free to PM me if you want any further info.

Stay strong and good luck

you really think its smart to go to a bar after just kicking....the physical part is the easiest part...right where your at days 7-28 were always the hardest for me...the anxiety is a bitch...no sleep...and yes sneezes for a solid 6 weeks....good luck man...its tough but I've done it so many times I just cant seem to stick with it for the long haul....6 months here 6 months there...best wishes...hope you stay clean....the life of a heroin addict is not glamarous no matter how good that rush is, you still hate yourself when you have some sober/clean clarity when you wake up and your not high....Stay strong....Clonodine is key, and a little benzos if you can handle them....u seem to have the right way to do it....:)

I have a few blue footballs and a couple bars what me and my wife came up with is the taper method. If we cant sleep or we are a bit sick just pop a blue or bar. what do you all think of that???? i read some where a bouta something called i beleive the tomas method. It a home remady for opiates anyone heard this or used this b4? Thanks for all your time guys..<3

I wanted to respond to the blues and bars idea. it works but you will still be sick because heroin, unlike anything else I've ever done (besides x), really puts your body and mind in a lame state after doing it for even a few days. I used the blues and bars method successfully but my habit was only 4 months old and I detoxed in a hospital before starting the blues and bars. A positive thing about heroin is this: you've seen how miserable the physical withdrawals are already probably, and how the mental cravings are unlike almost anything else in intensity. So now that you've seen it, you're going to have an easier time coming off of blues and bars (as long as you don't overdo the bars). You're tougher now. That's the positive thing about heroin.
