How common?
It seems (in the 3 times i've dipped my hand in the codeine pool) a couple of hours after the most enjoyable effects have weaned off - i have a patch of a good hour and half feeling pretty nauseated; no where near puking but it's far from comfortable. I get some light headedness too.

It really doesn't seem worthwhile taking codeine again.
+ i do my cwe religiously dw

this is very common, its one of the reasons they add promethazine(phenergan) in the syrup form, it is an anti-nausea med, nausea is prolly the number 1 side effect, honestly if you do decide you wanna take them, eat a lil something before

yea you will be fine with out them trust me:) just enjoy life lol!

Lying or even sitting down will GREATLY ease opiate nausea. Try lying down, though, for that is better than just sitting, but sitting without much movement is certainly better than nothing for the nausea. If you are nauseated and do just lie down, it is likely to go completely away. Many people urge anti-histamine use for opiate nausea, which can work well, but will add to the sedation (some consider it pleasantly, others not) and take away from the itch. I also tend not to advise this for first-line treatment of opiate nausea, because lying down does have such a good track record (why do you think people smoke opium lying down?), and there is no real need to add another drug a lot of the time. Just my advice to try and see.

what dose are you taking? you might find lowering your dose will solve this problem, otherwise adding a light dose of an antihistamine (preferably 2nd generation which don't add any sedation) to the mix will help.

150mg. Anyway last night was horrendous. My heart was beating at 50bpm and sometimes jumping; leaving a painful feeling in my chest. - the nausea continued until 6am (even with dph + i took the codeine at 7pm). My fingers were cold and i had a really awful moment when it felt like my brain wasn't getting enough oxygen - gave me an instant headache + extreme light headedness.
This will be the last time i do codeine.

25-50mg Benadryl or 50-100mg of gravol 30 minutes before dosing, nausea gone.

I wouldn't suggest trying any other opiates if you had that reaction with 150mg of codeine. Sounds like an OD...

It's possible your body can't process it. Mine can't. When I take codeine I get a bitter taste in my mouth, an upset stomach, and I just feel gross, but I don't get the pain killing effect of it.

Research the CYP450 enzyme group and codeine. Not everyone can do it.

What happened to you does sound rather like an OD, so I would, as said, avoid opiates. It is possible you metabolize codeine really well into other active metabolites like morphine leading to an increased intensity, or that you are naturally sensitive or even intolerant to opiates, OR both.
