a legend in my own mind
I've recently went on a little adderall binge. I am usually pretty responsible with it, but since I've went into "recovery" all of my friends really look down on me for putting any kind of drug in my body, so instead of spacing them out I have to hide and party alone for a weekend. Honestly I'm not too sure how bad I wanna be completely sober. Anyway, I didn't sleep for 2 days and can't get more than a couple hours of "stress sleep" right now. Are there any natural cures. Most of the posts I read recommend weed, benzos, and alcohol for a hangover. I can't control my benzo use, I can't drink, and weed makes me worthless. Has anyone found anything to help me get back to normal (well, as normal as an addict can be I guess)?

Weed is natural .

Eat foods with high tyrosine levels (bannanas, almonds, proten rich food)
look up what tyrosine is because incant be bothered to explain it.

Excersise

meditation

ginseng

greentea ( shown to reduce oxidative stress in brain)

sleep

Ginseng elevates blood pressure and might be not the best choice in high dosages. Just like Ginko that does help the circulation but usually leaves me wired without speed so much that it's hard to fall asleep. Be careful with herbals, they might be quite powerful.
Also Valerian Root is a great way to calm yourself a little down. Plus no matter how much I take it I never have hang over or any negative experience whatsoever.

OTC anti-histamines such as diphenhydramine can help with sleep. Make sure you eat and drink plent of fluids. Valerian root is also another otc sleep aid that can help.

first off make sure you are eating well and keeping yourself hydrated, this alone helps a ton.

as far as natural cures I'd suggest Valerian Root and Diphenhydramine, I was pleasantly surprised at how well a decent dose of Valerian Root worked for me the last time I over did the Adderall.

Obviously Benzos are going to work best, if you have any around I'd take some, as a rule I don't do large amounts of stimulants without an adequate supply of benzos or ambien. I know you said you can't control your benzo use, but if you could get just one or two? you're going to have to figure that one out.

the other thing I've found that works really well the next day is Wellbutrin, I know it's an antidepressant and you may or may not have access to it but for me it puts me back to feeling normal faster than anything as long as I got some rest. Actually if you are trying to be sober and aren't already on a antidepressant I'd recommend giving Wellbutrin a shot, it's stimulating but much more balanced than a typical amphetamine high. for me anyway. we all react differently to these things.

benzos are generally the best for speed comedowns.

but theres diphenhydramine(Benedryl), doxylamine(Unisom), phenibut(look into it as its pretty effective and OTC), valerian(like a mild benzo, don't expect much), kava(valerian is better imo, but it works for some), or if you can get some take some seroquel(atypical antipsychotic with powerful sedative effects).

also if you can get some opiates those will help very well.

If you dont have any benzos, opiates, or alcohol, then im sorry buddy, your gunna have to ride it out.

Its tough I know, but you can handle it.

Some people say benedryl helps for falling asleep, but i wouldnt know.

I tried nyquil once and that did jack shit.

Kind of annoying that stim comedowns require things not sold over the counter generally :/

I would rather stay up and suffer than take diphenhydramine hcl, it gives me horrible restless legs syndrome (even if I was active entire day) and next day is exceptionally groggy. But I realize that everyone is affected differently. It wouldn't hurt to try, it won't make things worse that's for sure :)

Diphenhydramine (admittedly, high doses) have actually stopped me from sleeping and sent me delerious (i took it for that reason) but i'd literally lay down, close my eyes then kinda "wake up" downstairs talking to a fridge.

instead of me wasting benzos i found a new method to kill a crash or lose it. whatever dose u took, when u crash, take half that dose to feed ur brain what it wants to stop the crash, when that wears off, lower dose again, and so on, and wean urself off crash

That's a great idea if u have enough laying around. Me personally <Snip>self-incrimination<Snip>I like to go for a walk when I feel I'm coming down. Stop at a dinner, get some coffee, and choke down some toast (it will be hard, dry and gritty, but its worth it)
