(National) Big Day Out 2011

^ really? It's all about the music! Drugs/alcohol are just a way to further enhance the experience. You don't need to be intoxicated to go nuts in a mosh or dance your arse off in the boiler room :D I don' think I'll stop going to gigs until the day my hearing finally goes.

When you reach 30 maybe you'll feel the same or maybe niot, maybe i just burnt my body and brain. i would rather listen to the music at home these days or in the car. beats being around all the young pricks and drunks

Just got back from the Perth show.

Wow, Rammstein really put on one hell of a show, pyrotechnics, props, a ginormous penis cannon shooting white foam all over the audience (lol).

Tool, had never got a chance to see them.. and i was extremely satisfied by the performance and visuals, truly epic music live, really happy i got a chance to see them after so many years! And i was surprised to see Maynard join Deftones for passenger, wasn't sure if he'd come on for it, so that was an awesome bonus! :)

I did come to a realization during Rammsteins set that my mosh days are long gone, only lasted about 10 mins before i had to back out, i'll leave it upto the youngins now.

Hahaha mate I remember when I came to that very conclusion as well. Kinda depressing at first but these days I'm so much more comfortable down the back with my own dancing space and not getting everyone's sweat all over me =D

I loved Tool as well, hadn't seen them before but have always wanted to <3

maybe for you but I'm 32 and been going to the big day out since 98. I admit I've missed a few years such as last year - well the dates clashed with RSF which we were more keen on checking out for the first time and there wasn't anyone on the line up we wanted to see anyway. Will probably go again next years provided rsf dates don't clash with Sydney's bdo. However, Im going to have a problem if the dates clash and RATM are headlining again.
