I know I said to get a .22, but that's only if you are good enough shot to put a couple of rounds in somone's chest or head. More people are killed each year with a .22 than any other gun. You could always go with a higher caliber if you can handle shooting it or get a shotgun.

Hearing someone put a round in the chamber of a pump would make just about anyone run as fast as humanly possible if they broke into your house. Plus you can buy "less lethal" rounds if you live in one of those idiotic states where shooting someone on your property is considered a crime.

Probably the best thing to do would be to go to a huge gun store and try holding various guns and see what's best for you. I know for my girl, I would want her to have a .22, but she's very petite.

I honestly had no idea how exactly they put camo on a gun, that really was a pretty cool video. I don't really like the glossy finish on that stock though, every gun that I have purchased has a matte finish on it. A glossy coat is too damn reflective if you are trying to hunt.

Unbreakable: I'm not sure exactly what brand camo that they are using, but I think it's Skyline Excel, same camo that's on my 30-06 that I posted above. I know you can get just about literally any brand/pattern of camo that you can imagine. Here's a link with all of the patterns available. I like that .243 a lot man, how much does it weigh?

I would rather get shot with a .40 vs a .22 because a .22 will just ricochet all over your body.

There have been people that's gotten shot in the leg with a .22 and .223 and the bullet ended up exiting their fucking head after hitting all sorts of organs and bones. But you could also get shot in the head with a .22 and the bullet bounce off your skull and cause no life threatening injuries.

Of course this all depends on the type of bullet and a million other variables. But you are fucked if that .40 hits you in any vital organ. There's also those bullets designed for hostage or home defense where the bullet rarely exits the body and if it does then it won't even penetrate a sheet of dry wall.

Interesting. The only people that I know with any competence in shooting are either from the south or from the west. Granted, the only people I know from the midwest are either from Chicago or from St. Louis, so it's a bit of a skewed sample. Everyone that I knew back in Providence were pretty shocked that I had been going to a shooting range in Indiana. It's something that you see in Rhode Island.

My boy just got a S&W M&P .40 and its pretty nice. If you want a composite that you can actually hold I like those. Of course there's Glock but in MA handguns have to be Mass compliant and the safeties (or lack of) render those a no go inkless you can find a pre ban model or buy it from someone that already has one.

I really want my handgun permit but luckily I have a lot of friends with cool toys.

Yea and you can only have a 9 round clip unless it's pre ban as well... Silly Mass gun laws. Connecticut's not an easy state either but mass is fucking strict.

Also, I forget exactly what it is but don't they consider the way a trigger is so stiff on a glock to be a legal safety?

This is so true. If the government says that we no longer have the protection of the Bill of Rights then we must use our guns, given to us under the Bill, to regain those liberties. The same as the founding fathers of our Nation had to do. It is the most important freedom that we have- imo.

Why don't you get one of the newer 1911s that have three separate safeties? It sounds like that would be a pain in the ass, but shooting was really natural.
