nice.... i love michigan, especially around this time of year. Mackinac Island is one of my favorite places in the entire world, up there with The Grand Canyon, Hawaii, The Bahamas, Costa Rica.

Smoking dope and riding a bike around that island is awesome.

ya man, you oughta get a job. it feels good to be working and having that $ coming in. $ makes the world go round.

Shit, TRM just told me I need to get a job... Where did I go wrong? How did my life ever come to this?

KC have fun in Michigan! What are you doing out there anyway?

Also, I'm out to go camping for the rest of the weekend. Just came home to take care of some shit that I forgot to do before I left (and I left my dope at home) but tonight we're gonna have a huge fireworks display and get drunk as fuck it should be a great time. Wish me luck, we'll see if I can come home with all of my skin this time (which I did not manage to do last year). See you fuckers on Monday, hope everyone else has a great weekend.

fyi, ive been working since i was 13..

i was unemployed for around a year when i was really strung out on heroin. and actually, i have never been fired from a job, i actually quit.. so... im not a complete junky loser. :)

Getting drunk and blowing off fireworks is pretty awesome. if you could find some acid or mushrooms it makes it even better. I guess that really isn't harm reduction but sometimes you gotta kick it up a notch.

nothing better than going to the doctor and gettin a hot ass nurse to stick a needle in yo ass hahaha

Jobless - fun at first, then starts to suck!

Fuck I need a job. The freedom of not working during the summer is awesome, but this whole being broke thing is getting old. That and it really kind of makes me feel worthless not doing shit. Sure I stay busy all day and I've had some projects to get done but sleeping till 10:30 every day and being lazy just makes me feel like a bum.

RWOT, I hear you. I am signed up with a bunch of Temp Agencies. Am scalping tickets for friends who buy extra thinking shows will sell out and they will make a fortune but they don't know how to Ebay (I do). Am doing "demonstrations" in shops. Am giving classes to my mothers friends on how to ebay for cash money per hour. Am helping wealthy neighbors with small businesses do some paperwork. Am freelancing secretary for a guy who never ever does his expense reports and can't be bothered and he's like 6months behind for cash money per hour.

Essentially it's hustling. I go on interviews for real secretarial/administrative stuff but don't seem to get the job. I do much better "temp to perm" but there's nothing out there. I live with my mother because she's getting old and needs help. I help ALOT. And, I don't get a DIME from her. Not even gas money to run errands. My headlights both went out a few weeks ago and she pretty much said, "well, don't drive at night. get a job. save your money" And people wonder why I do dope. 8)

If you are in Chicago area and need leads on temp places that don't just do secretary stuff, PM me. Maybe I can help?
Gwen

Appreciate the offer but unfortunately I am nowhere near chicago at all, I live in CT. And I hear you on the random hustling thing, I've been doing anything to make a buck these days picking up all sorts of little odd jobs. Temp agencies are a good way to find work, only thing I don't like is the size of the cut they take, the ones I went to a few years ago literally would have kept about 25% of what I would make working straight for the company so I just never reported back in the following week after I heard some of their figures. That I am not cool with, I can go get some shit job at that point for the same pay.

I can also relate to the parents not helping you out, I had learned not to even bother asking for money (or much else for that matter) at a very young age. I see some people getting all sorts of shit from their parents and I just couldn't even imagine what that would be like to borrow $5.

Dude, 25% is nothing for an agency. My company uses temps sometimes to do clean stuff up sometimes. We really only have them for a couple weeks at a time but, i know for a fact that the agencies make a couple dollars more per hour than the temps do. There are definitely different kinds of agencies though and that kind is definitely for "unskilled" people where as you'd definitely be better off with a skilled agency.

There's Aerotech up here and they do trades and a lot of contract jobs. I worked through them for a short contract job years ago and its not unheard of for them to find you a 20$ an hour contract job which is pretty damn good if you need work. They were so active in trying to find me something that after I got settled at my current job i had to actually tell them to take me off their list because they called constantly. Of course that was years ago too.

If he were in the chicago area, we would be married. that doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but i just thought i would throw it out there.

I was in Michigan cause my friend has a fucking awesome lake house right over the border. I had never been there before even though i've known her a couple years now, but man, that place was great. Awesome like 10 person boat, wave runner, tubing, water skis. shit was sick.

Only bad part was my friend was driving the wave runner like a maniac and knocked us off twice, the second time going like 60 mph and I have a bruised rib :/ eh oh well, it was worth it.

You know its gonna hurt when you start skipping across the water like a stone.

Oh hell yeah, some of my friends have this awesome lake house here and their neighbor (fucking awesome dude) has a pretty sweet boat that we go tubing and wake boarding with and he thinks it's great to get drunk and try to throw us off the back. That shit doesn't tickle

Haha i misss the lake. gotta head back to our old lakehoouse again soon. ecspecially with this hot weather

Damn, just saw this. Sorry to hear broseph.

appreciate your condolences man, we all knew it was coming so that made it slightly easier for me, my grandpa n mom not so much, i was mostly concerned for trying to be there for them but they are just like me in that they shut down when emotionally distresed so its hard to talk or feel like your helping

but i know first hand that just having someone around is as good or better than 'talking it out'
