Narcolepsy procedures

I'm going to go to the docs tomorrow at the behest of my girlfriend who thinks that I have som sleeping disorder. She will accompany me.
Anyone know if they take bloodtests and what they look for in them? I have taken benzos recently as well as opiates. Im hoping they don't show up in the tests nor are they looking for them.
Also, what do they prescribe, if anything for narcolepsy or sleeping disoders?

Not sure about the testing procedures that will take place; but a friend of mine has serious full-blown narcolepsy and it still took him at least 2-3 prior medications, return trips to the office to complain they didn't work, etc. in order to get put on 5 mg Dexedrine But it was all worth it once those started coming in...
