Name a good career. Do they exist?

^ I.T. where I live is over-saturated with breakthrough candidates. Sure, if you get a C.S. honours degree, grab a few certs and get some work experience, you will be getting those $50,000yr interviews, but anyone who puts 6-7 solid years into learning a field should be looking at a living wage for their troubles.

Truth is, you graduate with a 2-yr or even 3-yr degree from a Community College, you can expect to be typecast at a few bucks above min. wage.

Where I live, min. wage is $10.25. Your typical technician or analyst out of college can expect to make between $12-15hr, and that's with work experience. Heaven forbid you took out loans to pay for that diploma, or it's welcome to defaults-ville, population.. you.

Agreed, for the vast majority of us, a good "career" that we will enjoy will be extremely hard to find. Simply too many people in this country...as a result, just look at work as one part of you, don't let it define you and you will be fine.

I found that the Jung typology test (or if that's not it just google personality test) helped me narrow down careers that I would be interested in. I was actually interested in everything listed and finally decided my career. Was very interested in the psychology field but nursing seems better for me at this part of my life. Good luck! :)

Mental Health Advocacy is gaining ground in the UK. Probably the most rewarding job I've ever had. As well as helping people with mental health issues realise what they really want, there's a human rights side to it whereby you can help support them in having their rights complied with.

Nice one...

The "best" career choice for one to make would be in a field which they would enjoy working in, something that would give you a sense of fulfillment, or your just wasting your life.
