N-benzyl mescaline
I am thinking along the lines of the n-benzyl on amphetamines, Benzphetamine. What does a benzyl group do to PEA's? If there is extended release as said for benzphetamine I would love to hear about how it could pan out for other compounds, inform me about such matters, what does the benzyl 'usually' do? How about modification of the ring?

You're thinking of Mescaline-Nbome. Its more potent but not enough to justify the synthesis costs.
No I am thinking of just the benzyl on it, mescaline NBOMe has not been rated the best and this could be something else more. Mescaline NBOMe doesn't appear to be very advantageous and I am just curious as to how this would be. I was trying to go to sleep last night and a thought popped in my head about a cathinone version of mescaline but decided it would probably be pretty lame but then I thought about just a benzyl on it instead.
